Tips for Playing Rebellion Special Edition
Give Characters Their Personal Ships
Some of the characters in Star Wars had personal ships that they had a their disposal. Good examples of this include Han Solo and Chewbacca flying the Millenium Falcon and Darth Vader's personal flagship the SSD Executor. Of course, you'll have to build their ships for them to use but most will use light transports or smaller ships which will keep costs down. Doing this will allow the characters to participate in the game and battles more realistically. The following is a list of characters and the name and class of their personal ship (that I've found):
Han Solo & Chewbacca: "Millennium Falcon" (MFALC/Stock Light Transport)
Admiral Ackbar: "Liberty" or "Home One" (WCRS & CRS/ Mon Cal Star Cruiser)
Lando Calrissian: "Lady Luck" (LUXTRN/ Stock Light Transport)
Qu Rahn: Name of ship??? (CRV/ Corellian Corvette)
BoShek: "Infinity" (probably a YT-2000/Stock Light Transport)
Lak Sivrak & Dice Ibegon: Name of Ship??? (a scout ship SCT/use Stock Light Transport)
Talon Karrde & Mara Jade: "Wild Karrde" ( B/FRT Bulk Frieghter)
Shug Nix and Salla Zend: "Starlight Intruder" (BTRAN/Medium Transport)
Dash Rendar: "Outrider" (YT-2400/Stock Light Transport)
Shada D'ukal & Karoly D'ulin: "Hammertong" (HMR/use a Dreadnaught first then switch to G-2/Modified Strike Cruiser)
Kyle Katarn & Jan Ors: "Moldy Crow" (MCFTR/ Modified Corellian Fighter use Stock Light Transport)
Emperor Palpatine: "Excaliber" (LINER/use Heavy Transport) or "Cloaked Lambda Shuttle" (Name?)(CLSHU/use Assault Transport)

Name Your Capital Ships
With names like Star Destroyer 23 or Frigate 45, things get dull quickly. But in Rebellion you can actually name your capital ships (if you didn't know this already). Some sites like:the Star Wars Technical Database is a great source for names of capital ships. Another good way to get ship names is to use a thesaurus. which'll allow you to come up with a multitude of names for your ships. Once you do come up with some names it would be a good idea to have a list of them handy because you'll have to type them in while the game is still going and even at the slowest setting it might take a while to enter all the names in.
Give capital ships individual class Designations
This means giving individual ships a specific class designation after it's name such as DREAD for a Dreadnaught or ISD for an Imperial Star Destroyer. So for example a ship's name could be "Invincible (ISD)." Some ship cards like the Stock Light Transport have multiple classes of ships in them and if you want to differentiate the ships it'll be neccessary to give them class designations. The following is a list of the ships and their designations for each ship card:
