Alliance Light
Starfighter Squadron
(Replaces Y-wing Squadron)
Starfighters used in Alliance Light Squadrons include Y-Wings, Z-95 Headhunters, T-Wings, R-41 Starchasers, Pinook Fighters, Zebra Fighters and "Ugly" Fighters. Y-Wings (and to a lesser extent, Z-95's) are used to defend vital rebel military bases and fleets. T-wings and R-41 Starchasers are used by planetary governments who join the Rebel Alliance in planetary defence and fleet manuvers. Pinook fighters and Zebra fighters are used in outposts located in the Outer Rim Territories. Only commanders desperate enough and pilots crazy enough will use custom "Ugly" Fighters in combat.
Alliance Medium Strike
Squadron
(Replaces X-wing Squadron)
Starfighters used in Alliance Strike Squadrons include X-wing, Authority IRD, Cloakshape, Preybird and Razor starfighters. X-wings are the primary strike craft used by the Alliance in fleet engagements as well as base defence. Authority IRD, Cloakshape Fighters, Preybird Fighters, and Razor Fighters are used by Alliance planetary governors for planet defence while the Alliance military use them for outpost defence along the Outer Rim.
Alliance Assault Bomber
Squadron
(Replaces B-wing Squadron)
Starfighters used in Alliance Heavy Assault Bomber Squadrons include B-Wing, H-Wing, and K-Wing Assault Bombers. These B-wing is the primary bomber used by the Alliance Navy in Fleet engagements and are rarely allocated towards planetary and outpost defence in Core and Outer Rim planets held by the Alliance. The H-wing and K-wing are used to a lesser extent due to the higher cost of these starfighters but fighter commanders have much affinity towards these fighters due to the fact that they can give and take a lot of punishiment in combat.

Starfighters used in Alliance Advanced Squadrons include A-Wing, E-Wing, W-wing, and Planetary Fighters. The A-wing Starfighter is used as an advancedinterceptor in fleet engagements, while the E-wing is used as an advanced bomber in fleet engagements and planetary defence. The W-wing and Planetary Fighters are mainly used by planetary governors for base defense and are rarely used in the Alliance Navy due to the popularity of the A-wing and E-wing starfighters.
