Empire Starfighter cards
imperial Light
StarFighter Squadron
(Replaces TIE Fighter Squadron)
Starfighters used in Imperial Light Squadrons include TIE Fighters and TIE Droid Fighters. The TIE Fighter is the primary light fighter used in fleet engagements and base defence. The lesser used TIE Droid Fighters are used in most non-critical stations and outposts.
(Replaces TIE Interceptor Squadron)
Starfighters used in Imperial Interceptor Squadrons include TIE Interceptors, Star Viper fighters, Supra Fighters, and Toscan Fighters. The TIE Interceptor is the primary interceptor used by the Imperial Navy. Due to generous terms granted by Xizor Transport Systems, both the Star Viper and the Supra Fighter are being used to defend several Imperial bases on an experimental basis to determine their effectiveness in battle. Imperial overseers of outposts in the Outer Rim use Toscan Fighters in their garrisons due to the fact that TIE Interceptors are needed in more vital areas.
imperial Assault Bomber
Squadron
(Replaces TIE Bomber Squadron)
Starfighters used in Imperial Bomber Squadrons include: TIE Bombers, Assault Gunboats, Skipray Blastboats, and Scimitar Assault Bombers. TIE Bombers and Assault Gunboats are the main bombers used by the Imperial Navy in tactical combat. The Skipray Blastboat (often classified as a capital ship due to its enormous power output) is often used for planetary defense in a limited areas because of its high cost. The Scimitar Assault Bomber is also seeing action in the elite bomber squadrons of the Imperial Navy.
(Replaces TIE Defender Squadron)
Starfighters used in Imperial Advanced Squadrons include the: TIE Defender, TIE Avenger, Missle Boat, V-38 Stealth TIE, I-7 Howlrunner, and the M1-5 experimental starfighters with pilot escort transport. The TIE Defender and the TIE Avenger are the starfighters of choice in the advanced squadrons of the Imperial fleet. Due to the prohibitive costs of the Missle Boat and V-38 Stealth TIE, (the SLAM system and Micro Cloaking Device used in their respective fighters are highly expensive, even by Imperial standards) both of these fighters are used in limited numbers in the Imperial Navy. Using the latest in telepresence technology, the M1 through M5 experimental squadrons (with their attending escort transports) are also seeing action in limited numbers to test the effectiveness of the new battle system (with very encouraging results). The I-7 Howlrunner are used when no other advanced starfighters are available, but so far no complaints have been received on their effectiveness in combat.
