Keyboard Short Cuts on Pocket PC

Did you know that most keyboard short cuts that you use on your computer can be used on your Pocket PC as well.  Here is a small compilation of shortcuts that can be used on your Pocket PC.

As you are aware, when you open any application on your Pocket PC, tapping OK button does not stop the application.  It simply continues to run in the memory.  So if you have several applications running you will notice your Pocket PC responds a lot slower.

To shut an application running in memory, you need to use iTask (on an iPAQ) or go to the Start-> Settings -> System -> Memory and then selecting the program to stop.

An alternative to shut down a running application is using the on screen keyboard (Ctrl + Q).  Most application can be shut down using this keyboard short cut.  These keys are not case sensitive.

Here is a list of keyboard short cuts that are available:

Operation Shortcut
Close Application Ctrl + Q
Select All Ctrl + A
Cut Ctrl + X
Copy Ctrl + C
Paste Ctrl + V
Undo Ctrl + Z
New Document Ctrl + N
Close an Application Ctrl + Q
To make text Bold Ctrl + B
To make text Italic Ctrl + I
To underline a text Ctrl + U
