1. Meeting Minutes (R. Larose)
Discussion and vote on approval of minutes from August 8, 2001 meeting (enclosed).
2. Eagle Scout Project (D. Stone)
Eagle Scout, David Stone, will present his proposal to build and install bird houses along the MVRT.
3. Trail Maintenance (G. Newbury)
Further to various Trail maintenance issues raised at the August meeting, G. Newbury has responded to Council’s concerns (copy of Newbury letter attached) and will discuss in particular the issue of encroaching vegetation along the Trail.
4. Bridge & Culvert Assessment (C. Scott, G. Newbury or J. Smith)
District 8 has identified the need to assess the condition of a/I bridges and cu/verts along the Trail. (copy of letter of intent attached) Is the Council interested in submitting a grant to fund the project?
5. Bottled Water (C. Scott)
There are some 100 bottles of water left over from the National Trails Day celebrations in 2000 and 2001. They were donated to us by Coke. Storage space and freshness are issues. Discussion on what to do.
6. Quarry (R. Larose)
R. Larose will outline a quarry project which has been proposed in North Sheldon. A letter of request has been sent to the Town of Sheldon and to VAOT notifying them that the Council would like to review the proposal.
7. Updates
- Sewer construction along Trail in Enosburg Falls (R. Larose)
- VT Forests, Parks & Recreation Grant (C. Scott)
- Sheldon Bridge plans have been developed — comments due Oct. 15. (R. Larose)
- Sept. 15 Workday— Town boundary signs installed (C. Scott)
