Memo to: Council membersJune Council Meeting
There will not be a Council meeting this month. See you in July (tentative date is Wed., July 19).
National Trails Day Celebration - June 11. 2000
Our Event was a success! We sold almost 90% of the chickens, enough to cover the caterer's bill. Received $35 in donations. 15-20 people participated in the nature walk and seemed to enjoy themselves. The Enosburgh Town Band gave a 1 hour performance; many musicians later came to the BBQ. Unfortunately I don't think the booths at Lincoln Park had a lot of visitors. So, in spite of the lousy weather, we did very well.
A huge thanks to all of you who helped out. Many hands really do make light work. And also thanks to those of you who dropped by and bought chicken dinners.
Other News
Donation - We have been advised that we're to be the recipients of a $479 donation! This money was raised to extend the Trail from the St. Albans trailhead to St. Albans Bay, however the project is no longer active, so the fundraiser will give the funds to the Council. What a generous gift!
Bicycle Racks - 7 of the 8 remaining bicycle racks have been sold and delivered.
Grants - We have received the signed contract for Mike Loner's Rail Trail Challenge' grant and he will be getting the brochures/passports printed and distributed.
Berkshire Representative - Phyllis Tiffany has been appointed by Berkshire to be their representative on the Council. The member-at-large vacancy will be filled.
