Chair Raymond Larose called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
K. Brunelle presented the Annual Income and Expense report for the year 1999. Ending Balance is at $1,752.03. The Report is attached.
R. Larose conducted the election of the members at large. Ballots listing 11 candidates who had expressed interest were distributed to those in attendance. Each voter could vote for up to 8 candidates. The following eight candidates were elected as members at large: Kathleen Brunelle, William Brunelle, Guy Choiniere, Scott Christiansen, Chet Parsons, David Stanley, Evelyn Stanley, and Phyllis Tiffany. R. Roberge moved to elect these eight members. Seconded by K. Brunelle. Motion carried.
R. Larose outlined highlights of the Council's 1999 activities. They included the Sheldon Junction Bridge replacement project, the Bicycle Rack grant, television coverage on WPTZ's Champlain 2000 series, a Vermont Youth Conservation Corps grant, a workday, the Millennium Legacy Trail nomination, the hiring of a part-time coordinator, and a presentation made at the Rails to Trails Conservancy conference.
Chair - John Gale nominated Raymond Larose. Seconded by K. Brunelle. R. Roberge moved that the Secretary cast one ballot in favor of the nominee. Seconded by C. Parsons. Motion carried.
Vice Chair - R. Roberge nominated William Brunelle. Seconded by T. Larose. A motion was made by C. Parsons for the Secretary to cast one ballot in favor of the nominee. Seconded by P. Tiffany. Motion carried.
Secretary/Treasurer - T. Larose nominated Kathleen Brunelle. Seconded by R. Roberge. A motion was made by C. Parsons that the Secretary cast one ballot in favor of the nominee. Seconded by P. Tiffany. Motion carried.
There being no other business, R. Larose adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m. The meeting was followed by a presentation by the Romp family of Shoreham, VT on their cross-country bicycling trip of 1999.
