The trail passes under I-93 using an underpass that had been specifically constructed for the railroad line, and passes a small propane distribution facility immediately thereafter. Note that a complete track switch for the railroad is almost buried in the gravel entrance to the propane facility.
The trail passes a barrier then continues down the sharply curved access road for the propane facility and oil company office, but turns off (through barriers) to make its own crossing of Route 11. The path then continues adjacent to the north side of the highway to the intersection of Route 5 North. The Cheshire Bridge begins just east of that intersection, while the entrance ramp to a State boat ramp begins opposite the end of the trail.
Note that the railroad track crossed the Cheshire Bridge in both directions on the westbound lane of the Cheshire Bridge. The toll booth for the railroad operated toll bridge must have been deliberately placed at the east end of the bridge so that the toll attendant could hold all westbound highway traffic whenever the train (or trolley car) whistled for the bridge crossing.
Please note that there is no sidewalk or other suitable accommodation for trail users on the long and narrow Cheshire Bridge to Charlestown NH!

Limited trailhead parking is available about an eighth-mile west of the
Cheshire Bridge adjacent to the trail crossing of Route 11 at that point. Trail users
must be cautious when using the adjacent highway crossing. Note that the trail
shares the lightly used access road to the oil company office and propane
distribution yard from a point near the Route 11 intersection.

The entrance to Hoyt's Landing Boat Ramp (VT Fish & Wildlife) is adjacent to
the east end of the trail. Note that a wheelchair accessible fishing area
is near the south end of the entrance ramp. Trail users must be cautious when
crossing the highway to use the entrance to the boat ramp property. No
facilities for trail users were observed within the grounds of the boat ramp!

accommodation for trail users on the long and narrow Cheshire Bridge to
