The trail crosses Route 232 a short distance north of the Kettle Pond Parking Area, then runs through the woods roughly parallel to the highway through Lakeside to Rickers.

Note that the reference marks in the historic railroad station listing suggests that Lakeside was nothing more than a rural train stop!
