Pilings in the river are the remains of a bridge for a
connecting track built in 1940 to a second railroad line that ran on the west
side of the Nashua River and then diverged to Brookline and Milford, NH.

Simple trail access is available at the following locations:
Along Main Street within the East Pepperell Business District
Groton Street crossing
Lowell Street crossing
Trail parking is available next to the trail within the East Pepperell business
district. More parking may be available across Groton street from the north end of
the business district.

A restaurant at the south end of the business district is open (Through Sept 5,
2000):
Sun 7 am to Noon
Tue Wed Thu 6am to 2 pm
Fri 6 am to 8 pm
Sat 6am to Noon
A gas station is located at the north end of the business district.

A convenience store that offers sandwiches on a take-out basis is located a
short distance east of the Groton Street Crossing. This store may be open on a
24 hour per day basis. Water is presumably available upon request. The webmaster
failed to note whether a toilet was available inside.
A drug store across from the convenience store apparently offers limited
groceries and other convenience items. The webmaster failed to note whether a
toilet, water, and telephone was available inside. Store hours are:
Weekdays 8 am to 8 pm
Saturday 8 am to 7 pm
Sunday 9 am to 5 pm
The Pepperell Spa near the north end of the Business District features an old
fashioned soda fountain, and presumably offers a variety of old fashioned
refreshments. However, the business was closed during the Webmaster's check of
trail facilities on July 6, 2000, and its hours of operation were not posted.
