A Cowboy's Guide to Life
Cowboy's Guide To Life
CODE OF THE WEST
A man's word is his bond--and so is a woman's
Always tell the truth
Always keep your promises, No matter how inconvenient
Speak plainly; say what you mean... mean what you say
Pull your own weight
Work hard: No matter how unpleasant, dirty, and tiring it is
Someone is counting on you
A man is what he does
Live Clean
Don't gamble, cheat, buy on credit, drink, smoke, chew, spit, sniff, or shoot up
Sex is fine as long as it follows the other rules
Try not to fight
If forced to a fight; Fight to win
Hold your temper
If tempted to hit a man, cuss him out instead
If tempted to cuss him out, Count to ten instead
If you can't count to ten, Walk away
Mind your own damn business
Don't spread gossip
If you give a man enough rope he'll hang himself
Always wear a hat
It prevents your brains from being scrambled by the weather
Remove your hat only for:
Church,Hearing the National Anthem,Entering someone's home
All other occassions are optional
Harbor no prejudice
Stand up for justice
Take care of your horse before yourself
Be kind to small children and dogs
Never trust a politician or a salesman
A sense of humor will cure most of whatever ails you
Never quit
A Cowboy's Way
A Cowboy's way is the simple way,
Same rules apply at work or play,
Treat people fairly in all you do,
As you'd like people to treat you.
A Cowboy's way is the simple way,
Act like a man and earn your pay,
Try to be helpful and get along,
Teach by example right from wrong.
A Cowboy's way is the simple way,
His eyes see more blue skies than gray,
Friends, horses, dogs and good clean fresh air,
Find these and you'll find Cowboys there.
A Cowboy's way is the simple way,
Enjoying God's world every day,
Seeing what most eyes have never seen,
Sunrise, sunset and in between.
A Cowboy's way is the simple way,
Which isn't much, some people say,
But life would be a much brighter star,
If all folks were like Cowboys are.
