Collins Model 75A2 Receiver Technical Information

NOTE: This equipment is currently "On The Air". The Viking 2 recently had all the DC Filter Capacitors replaced along with the Audio Coupling Capacitors. It is in Fair to Good Cosmetic Shape but Very Good Electrical Condition. It is regulary used on 75 Meter AM Activities.

The 75A2 was aligned several years ago and seems to be working fine. It has a "Homebrew" plug-in Crystal Calibrator, and "Aftermarket" Product Detector Plug-in in the NBFM socket.

The Speaker Shown is Counterfeit! It is a National Speaker painted St. James Grey and has a Collins Emblem from another radio set. It is actually made from an old National Radio Company Speaker.

The E.F. Johnson Company 275 Watt "Matchbox" is shown on top of the Viking 2. It is an 80-10 meter Antenna Tuner. The Heathkit AM-2 SWR Bridge is connected to it and the transmitter.

The Microphone is a 1960s Ceramic PTT Desk Microphone. The headphones are the R-10 type from WW2. There is a replica 1030s ARRL Logbook on the benchtop.

More Technical Information about this radio will be posted soon.
