HINTS and TECHNIQUES FOR COMMON RADIO RESTORATION
Consider purchasing a book on restoration & repair techniques.
Consider looking for magazine articles on restoration & repair.
Make sure the equipment is UNPLUGGED, and Filter Capacitors
discharged.
Drink Beer or Alcohol after the job is done.
Make a diagram of tube locations, mark the numbers on the
tubes down next to the socket you removed it from on your
diagram. Check against tube location diagram in manual. If
different, note and check for circuit modifications and or
substitute tube. Test all tubes. SEE ELECTRONIC RESTORATION
SECTION> Clean all tubes after identifying them using approved
method. Remark if necessary.
Have a plan before you start. Limit your work to the parts of
the radio you decided before you started. Consider doing the
easy, basic operations first; especially if the radio is in
working condition. Enjoy the radio.
