I guess that you could say that the improvements currently in progress to our club grounds are current events. There is a lot going on now and much to follow...I hope. The 'upper' lower pond has been drained and is being excavated. There will be a new water exit system installed that will allow us to lower the pond level before winter to kill the edge growth. In the spring we can reset the level to bring the pond back to capacity. The wood line behind the lower trap field has been bull dozed back and the area has been smoothed and is being prepped for planting. The fish and boat commission has been working closely with us to ensure all of the environmental laws are complied with. Our 'archery' roads have been smoothed and straightened and the west side has had some water diversion work done. The rifle range has had some renovation, and it sorely needed it. We have been actively pursuing getting an addition put on our clubhouse but at the present it seems like it may be more feasible and prudent to build a new structure. We would certainly welcome all suggestions. If there is anyone out there that has blue print experience and would donate some time we could sure use the help. I hope in the near future to be able to thank and name all of those that have labored voluntarily to make these improvements. I know there are those that form the 'automatic group'. Whenever there is work to be done you will almost always find them in the middle of it automatically; Dave, Rowdy, Jim, George, Bud, John to name just a few. Thanks guys, I know there are others and I will thank them also. |
