We had 200 shooters show up to participate in our final 3-D shoot of the season. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did! The weather was certainly fickel all day. We are already looking forward to next year. Please remember that we are always looking for help in setting up and tearing down our targets for the 3-D's. If you help do either one then you can shoot that shoot free and enjoy the banquet at the end of the year. Just as a matter of info, #15 at this shoot (the long shot at the deer) was measured to be exactly 44 yards. For those that hunt-best of luck. To those that shoot the winter leagues-we will see you somewhere and best of luck. You can keep in touch by e-mail, feel free.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of businesses that donated items for our door prizes. We greatly appreciate all of their support! I wii try to list them alphabetically:
Bova's Hardware
Crotty's Chevrolet
Dollar Tree
Dorn's Archery Barn
Dutch Treat Restaurant
Higley's Archery
S & S Sports
Slocum's Store
Wild Horse Saloon

Thanks again!

I would also like to thank Renee and Danette for providing what many have told me to be the best kitchen of the 3-D shoots. Thanks!

Please note that we voted to make the inside of the clubhouse non-smoking during an archery event.

Anyone with a desire to shoot more 3-Ds and either does not want to go alone or perhaps doesn't know where to go contact me:
spartacontact@hotmail.com

As you check the results of our
3-D shoot please remember that there must be a minimum of 8 shooters in a class to award 2nd place. We do award 1st place with 1 shooter minimum in a class.

Just in case there are archers out there that don't want to hang up their bow until next 3-D season. Here are some things to consider:
Archery deer season opens 10/5/02

Winter Leagues
DORN'S ARCHERY BARN-Leagues start the 3rd week of January.
All leagues are shot Sunday to Sunday so you can compete at your convenience. These leagues are shot on the 'Dart' electronic hunt system.
2 person league-$10.00 per week per team, runs for 10 weeks. Last years prizes included $200.00 to the first place team and $160.00 to the second place team. Woody gave approximately $2400.00 in prizes that were by drawing, this allows the possibility of the last place shooter drawing the grand prize. Grand prizes last year included 3 pig hunts.
Jack and Jill league-$8.00 per week per team for 10 weeks.
This is a mixed couple league. At the current price this is a fun league and each participating shooter gets a 'T' shirt. Woody is open to suggetions for different prizes but the league cost would have to be adjusted also.
Don't forget that he has a 'shooters banquet' at the end of his leagues!

I have approached S&S sports in Spartansburg but his scedule is not finalized yet.

I will approach Higley's Archery and Full Draw Indoor 3-D Archery for league schedules and publish them within the next few days.

I want to mention that Rainbow archery club has a winter schedule that you may want to check out as well as Presque Isle Field Archers.

There are so many opportunities to keep participating in the sport of archery through the fall and winter right into the 3-D season.

Remember that Sparta Sportsmen's Club 3-D's start the 3rd Sunday of January.

We hope to see all of you at a shoot somewhere.
