Dreams

by Thunderchild

Parker unlocked the door of her house and walking in slowly. When she closed the door, she leant up against it, letting out a heavy sigh. She walked over to the table and looked at the answering machine as she put her keys next to it. 0 messages. "Good." And turned towards the stairs.

After having a long hot shower and changing into some comfortable clothes, shirt and tracksuit pants, she felt a whole lot better. She didn't need or want a drink tonight, she would sleep well enough without it. She stretched out on the couch and placed the cushion comfortably behind her head. 'Maybe a cat-nap before I get something to eat.' Parker thought as she fell asleep.

Parker woke up to the strange feeling of been watched. Sure enough, sitting at her feet was Jarod, dressed in black, quietly watching her. She just lay there not demanding why he was in her house or why he was watching her sleep. She just laid there watching him in silence as he moved closer to her, gently rubbing her leg from foot right up to her thigh. Neither spoke as Jarod lowered himself onto her, she just rested her hands on his shoulders. Their lips were about to touch when...

Parker's eyes flew open. "God, I'm getting too attached to Wolf Gang Puke." Parker sat up, looking around to make sure she was alone. Yes, no one was around. "I've been working too hard." Parker got up and walked into the kitchen. "Yeah! I've been working too hard, I'm just tired." Parker tried to convince herself of that, but a little part of her was disagreeing. That the dream meant something, that something was going to happen to her or Jarod and soon. "That's ridiculous! Dreams don't come true and they don't mean anything!" Parker looked in the cupboard for something to eat.

12:05A.M.

Parker was in bed when it happened again. It was the continuation of the dream she had on the couch.

Jarod's lips gently touched hers. She held round his neck tightly, pulling him closer. Jarod put his hands behind her back and held her tighter. He couldn't get enough of her. Her touch. Her taste. Her scent. She groaned as he kissed down her throat onto her chest, just below her neck. Jarod sat up pulling her up with him. He pulled away far enough to be able to undo her shirt buttons. Parker smiled and pushed the shirt off her shoulders. Jarod pulled her closer and started to kiss her shoulder and neck, falling back onto the couch gently...

Parker woke up with a strange feeling. She reached over and turned on the lamp that was next to her on the table. When she turned around she had a heart attack, there sitting at her feet was Jarod, dressed in black like she had dreamt before. "What are you doing here?" She snarled as she pulled the covers closer to her.

"Sweet dreams?" Jarod asked gently.

"What?" Parker barked impatiently.

"What were you dreaming about? You were purring in your sleep." Jarod pointed out.

'You, it's always about you. But it seems to be getting better now.' Parker thought, and smiled evilly. "I dreamt that I dragged you're sorry hide back to The Centre."

"No, you didn't. It was something BETTER than that."

"And do you REALLY believe I'd tell you?"

"Maybe." Jarod got up and sat at her hip. "What would you do if it came true?" Jarod asked huskily.

Parker let a groan escape. "I'd be free and able to start a new life."

"No, not that one. The OTHER dream." Jarod moved closer to her, sitting next to her chest. He was close enough for Parker to smell his aftershave. Was it just her, or was it getting a little warm in here?

"I don't know what you're talking about." Parker crawled over to the other side of the bed and picked up Tommy's shirt to put on. He might be right about the dream bit but no way in Hell was she going to walk round in her underwear in front of him.

"Oh no?" Jarod stood up and looked at her.

"No." Parker walked to the door but Jarod blocked her way. "Why are you here?" Parker tried to dodge him, but he kept blocking her way.

"I just wanted to see you." Jarod said as Parker gave up and walked back to the bed. A prisoner in her own bedroom, where did everything go wrong? Letting him get beyond her barriers?

"You've seen me, now get out." Parker walked over to her side of the bed and felt under her pillow. She still considered the left side Tommy's.

"Looking for this?" Jarod held his hand up and hanging from his index finger was her gun.

"Apparently not." She walked over to the far wall and leant against it. Hoping if she had enough space between her and Jarod that she might be able to keep control. "What do you want? I've had a hard day and I'm very tired now can you speed this along please." Parker growled tiredly.

"I'm sorry but this might take a little time." Jarod started to walk closer to her.

"What might take a little time?" Parker asked, starting to tense up. Seeing him walking towards her slowly, just like a cat to a bird in a cage. Wasn't this situation a little confused? Isn't she the one who's meant to stalk towards him like that?

"What I have in mind." Jarod threw her gun on the bed. Parker didn't make any movements to get it. She was frozen to the spot. "And what YOU had in mind." He continued to walk towards her.

"I haven't the slightest clue what the Hell you're going on about." Parker snarled.

"Come, come. Don't play dumb. Oh, that rhymes!" Jarod smiled.

"I'd give you a medal but I don't have one on me right now." Parker said, looking out the window.

"I can see that for myself." Jarod said dangerously. Parker's head shot up and looked at him. His eyes were smoldering.

"I don't care what little game you're trying to play. But I'm not in the mood for you're games." Parker said as he was standing in front of her. Only a few inches separating them.

"Who said I was playing? And who said it was a game?" Jarod whispered. Parker shuddered as his warm breath fell on her face. He reached out to caress her face. She jumped when she felt his hand. "Shh, you're tense." Jarod continued his gently stroking. "You know I would never hurt you, don't you?" Jarod asked her gently. Parker nodded, slowly. It felt nice to have him gently stroking her face. The Ice Queen wasn't in control anymore. The gentle, warm side of her was. The side that was only in control when they were kids. That was the ONLY side when she was a kid. "You trust me, don't you?" Jarod asked her. She nodded again, still with her eyes closed. "Open you're eyes." She obeyed and looked up at him. "You trust me that I would never hurt you." Parker nodded again. Jarod gently lifted her arms and looped them around his neck, gently resting his hands on her hips. "I would never hurt you. I love you." Jarod whispered to her. He had to prove that he would never hurt her. Not like other people around her, he had to gain her trust again. He had it when they were younger, but so much has happened to both of them and it has taught her not to trust anyone, that everyone was only going to hurt her.

"I know. You're the only one who has never hurt me. I trust you with everything." Parker whispered.

"You're still tense." Jarod whispered and started to kiss her shoulder. "Relax." He kissed her neck and jaw. Parker relaxed slightly and rested her head on the side. "Trust me." Jarod lifted his head and looked her in the eyes. They were afraid. "Shh." Jarod gently kissed her forehead, then her cheek. Jarod took one of her hands from his shoulder and held it on his heart. "I'm yours. Do with me what you will. I belong to you." Parker's eyes changed. They softened. She brought her other hand off the back of his neck and ran her fingers through his hair. She ran the back of her hand across his cheek softly. She freed her other hand and ran them both along his face. She rested both her hands on the back of his neck where they were before. Parker held him a little tighter as she moved her face closer to his. Just as their lips were about to touch she hesitated. Jarod saw that she was hesitating and decided to help her out a bit. He gently kissed her lips and moved away.

"Don't stop." Parker whispered. Jarod kissed her again, still softly. Parker pulled him closer and deepened the kiss. Her grip around Jarod's neck tightened and she pressed her body against him by putting her left leg behind his right and pulling herself against him.

Jarod gently separated them to take a breath. "I think you might be forgetting to breathe." Jarod smiled at her. Parker ran her hands from his shoulder down to his hands and held them. She started to back towards the bed. Jarod followed her. She was in control now.

They got to the bed and Jarod kicked off his boots, brushing them aside with his foot. Parker laid on the bed on her back, holding herself up by her elbows. Jarod knelt on the bed in front of her and slowly lowered himself onto her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling his head down to hers. Jarod kissed her gently on the mouth then started to kiss down her face and her neck. Parker started to purr. "You like that."

"Umm." Parker purred again.

"Good to know." Jarod started to undo the buttons on her shirt. Parker tensed and the fear was back in her eyes. Jarod stopped on the third button and looked at her. "Shh. Relax." Jarod put his arms around her and made her sit up. She was kneeling in front of him. "I would never hurt you. You have to believe that."

"I believe you." Parker whispered, looking away from him. Jarod caught her chin and held it gently, pulling her face back to look at him.

"If you don't want to, we won't." Jarod said to her softly.

"I...I want to." Parker started to undo the buttons of his shirt. "It just feels strange. No, strange is the wrong word."

"Weird?"

"Yeah, weird. I mean we used to be friends and I chase you for a living to take you're freedom to get mine." Parker pushed his shirt off his shoulders.

"I know what you mean, but we'd have two different worlds. The every day hunt world and night time world that only we know about." Jarod pulled his arms out of the shirt and wrapped them around her. "So..."

"So what?" Parker started to undo the buttons on her shirt.

"Nothing." Jarod gently pushed the shirt off her shoulders. They fell back onto the bed kissing.

THE NEXT MORNING:
7A.M.

Jarod woke up first to find that he still had her sleeping form in his arms. She was happy. Afraid but happy. He too was afraid, he thought he had all the answers after all he is a PRETENDER. If they don't have the answers then who does? No one. No one can know everything about everyone and everything. But looking at the sleeping beauty beside him, he is sure of one thing. He loves her and will do anything and everything to be with her. After all everyone needs someone. She needs to know that there's someone who will look after her, who will listen and help her and most importantly to love her.

Every dream to go fulfilled. Every wish to come true and every thought not been about her safety and can he or she be trusted. He wants to be with her when she needs someone. To be at her side when she's having trouble sleeping with the demons that plague her sleep. But just to love her and be loved by her. He remembered Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence' and thought that it fitted the situation perfectly.

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words a trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

He's snapped out of his deep thinking by her stirring next to him. She opens her eyes, but it takes a few minutes to get her bearings. Someone is holding her in his arms. Making her feel safe. She looks up at him and finds him looking down at her. "Hey." Parker says sleepily and burrows deeper against him.

"Hey yourself, sleep well?" Jarod kissed her forehead.

"Yeah, you?" Parker looked back up at him and rested her hand on his chest, below his neck.

"Yeah." Jarod tightened his arms around her. "What time do you have to go to work?"

"8. Daddy said I could sleep in because I wasn't feeling well."

"How thoughtful of him." Jarod snarled. She never expected to hear that tone from him and she was suddenly afraid. "Shh, I won't hurt you." Jarod held her tightly to try and stop her from trembling. "I'm sorry, I won't do that again." Jarod said gently and kissed her.

"I just never expected you to sound that angry." Parker whispered and rolled onto her back.

Jarod boosted himself up on one elbow, so he was looking down at her. "Remember I'm yours. Just think of me as a guard dog and that'll take care of the little angry outbursts."

Parker touched his face. "I won't think of you as a guard dog." Jarod looked at her with confused eyes. "I'll think of you as my own personal tiger." Parker's eyes started to burn brightly. Jarod made a growling noise in his throat.

"Prrrrrr." Jarod made a purring sound by putting his tongue on the roof of his mouth and breathing through his mouth.

"Come here you." Parker purred. Jarod leant down and kissed her sweetly. She wrapped her arms around his neck tightly and rolled over so that she was on top. She started to kiss along his jaw. When she got to his ear she took it gently between her teeth and tugged gently.

"Hey, your getting a little too playful if you have to go to work in an hour aren't you?" Jarod smiled.

"What are you going to do about it?" Parker asked dangerously.

"You little..." Jarod rolled her over and pinned her down by holding her hands on the side of her head. He saw her smiling up at him. "You're a BAD girl." Jarod laughed.

"I know." Parker kissed him. "You can go have a shower first. I wanna stay here for a little longer."

"OK, but don't forget the time." Jarod let go of her, sitting up over at the other side of bed putting boxer shorts on.

"No." Parker curled up in a ball, looking out the window. To tell the truth, she felt a little guilty, she hadn't been with anyone since Tommy and she didn't feel like it was the best thing to sleep with Jarod. But hadn't it been 13 months since Tommy died? Yes. And didn't he tell her that it was time to trust Jarod on the anniversary of his death? Yes. But even with everything been the way it was it still didn't feel like the best thing to do.

Parker sat up, leant over the side and picked up Tommy's shirt. She looked at the red flannel in her hands before she put it on. Every time she looked at the shirt or wore it, it made her heart ache. But she didn't want to put it away or stop wearing it. She still wanted to see and feel things of Tommy's. She put the shirt on and got out of bed, walking over to her cupboard to get out a suit to wear for work.

She chose a black suit with a long coat and a rich blue coloured silk blouse. Also, black boots with a 3-inch heel. She sat the clothes on the bed and put the boots at the foot of the bed. She walked downstairs and waited till the shower was free.

THE CENTRE:
8:05A.M.

Parker stormed into Broots' hole. She looked to be in worse mood than usual and Broots decided from then that he didn't want to be the victim of the day, but no matter what he does he's still going to get killed. Doesn't he always? "G' morning Miss Parker." Broots said quietly.

"Umm. Any news on Lab Rat?"

"Yeah, there's a hostage situation in Dover. It looks like something that Jarod would be drawn to. I've been reading up on it but it doesn't look like he's there yet but the FBI are involved and they're sending someone from Blue Cove." Broots handed her the papers.

"Our Boy's come home. Get the jet fired up, we're leaving in 5 minutes." Parker ordered and walked out to go and tell her father that the hunt is on.

The End of Dreams

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

As you might notice throughout some of my Fan Fictions I have included some song lyrics. I thought that the song fitted the FF well and put it in it somewhere or just tacked it on the end. You might also notice I have a lot of Depeche Mode's songs. Their songs fit the best so I use them as well as a few Simon and Garfunkle. Those two fit the best. Thunderchild.

Whatcha think? Good? Bad? Should I steal Miss Parker's gun and shoot myself? Umm...Maybe not. You know the drill. Gimme, gimme, gimme feedback, I need it to survive.
