Jarod is running away from Miss Parker and Broots in Newark. During the run, Jarod ends up entering an apartment in which there's a young woman meditating. She explains the meaning of the word "karma" to Jarod: each good action returns, like a boomerang. She also reads his palm and tells him that his lifeline says that he used to be alone, but that he reunites families, and that he is going to meet someone just like him. While Jarod changes clothes in a alley, a woman does the same thing. She was being followed. When she approaches Jarod's way, she lets her wallet fall and he catches it. Jarod gets in the apartment where she was. The man who was following her does the same and Jarod hides. The man leaves several moments later. Inside the wallet, Jarod finds a picture of a woman with a little girl, as well as a card with the woman's name in it and a drawing of a little girl with her grandfather, where is written "I miss you, Mom."

Jarod goes to the Pritchard Gun Works and watches as Jenna arrives with a man. Meanwhile, Jarod introduces himself to the owner and is hired as head of the security.

At The Centre, Miss Parker and Sydney are visiting her little brother, that is being kept in a incubator. His lungs were underdeveloped, but the oxygen should help him. Mr. Raines arrives and makes funny noises to the baby, while Sydney and Miss Parker watch him, surprised. Raines tells Miss Parker that a true miracle should be for them to talk like anything ever happened. Sydney informs them that Jarod left them something: a card with the inscription "1 Corinthias 15 ... Even a child is known by his doings." Miss Parker reads it wrong, by purpose, but Raines doesn't notice. The right verse doesn't say the same and Miss Parker concludes that Jarod was trying to tell them that Raines didn't change.

Jarod learns that Jenna is going to marry with Pritchard and, because of that, Pritchard asks Jarod to protect her more than he protects him. In the next morning, Jarod listens to a conversation in which Jenna is saying that she "needs to see her". When Jarod is talking with Jenna, a man approaches in a car and tries to shoot Jenna. Jarod saves her life. Some time later, the man that was following her in the beginning is taking pictures of her and asking himself who Jarod is. 

Jarod goes to St. Charles church, where there is a group of children. The man that was following Jenna also goes to the church to talk to her father, while showing him his badge.

Back to the Gun Works, Jarod speaks with Jenna about what is going on and she tells him that the man is agent Dennis Alonzo. Jarod is surprised to know that Jenna is also an agent, working to the ATF for 12 months and 13 days.

Broots and Miss Parker go someplace where there are some people playing basketball. Broots tells her that the sentence that Jarod sent them was one of Mr. Raines' computer codes and that he has been meeting with one of the men playing. It happens that Miss Parker knows him from the high school in Rome, saying that  he was her date once and that she broke his finger when he tried something. Leaving Broots behind, Miss Parker goes to talk with the man (it should be said that in this episode, Miss Parker is wearing a very short skirt). While Giuseppe is dressing up, Miss Parker is waiting for everything, except the fact that he is a priest. Broots laughs when he sees his uniform.

At the Pritchard Gun Works, Jenna explains to Jarod that the operation was supposed to last only 3 months, Jarod assures her that her daughter and her father are fine, because she is no longer allowed to see them. Alonzo doesn't let her and now Jenna is too worried with her daughter's safety to leave the operation. Then, Jenna gives Jarod a ring that belonged to her mother and wants him to give it to Cassie.

Back at the basketball place, Giuseppe tells Miss Parker that Father Jarod told him that she would come and that Raines is studying to become a Deacon. He goes on, saying that Mr. Raines will have God's forgiveness and Miss Parker can't accept that. Giuseppe also mentions a project where Raines is working in, called Veritas (=truths) Project. Miss Parker ends the conversation saying that anger is her religion. 

Later on, Jarod speaks face-to-face with Alonzo, that wants Jarod to stop interfering. He also tells him that it has been hard to accuse Pritchard of the crimes he commits. After stealing his badge, Jarod talks to Jenna's father and Cassie, promising the little girl that her mother is going to be there in her first communion and also gives her the ring. In the company again, during a fire training, the man that tried to shoot Jenna earlier, tries it again, but Jarod ends up saving them.

Miss Parker goes to Raines' office, where he is washing Willie's feet. When Raines sees her coming in, he sends Willie away and Miss Parker sits on the chair, previously occupied by him. Raines tells her that if she forgives him for his sins, she will find inner peace. While Raines "drools" over her, just staring at her legs, Broots calls and says that he knows what the Veritas Project is: a toxin that is transported by air. After disconnecting the call, she gets up and leaves.

Pritchard thanks Jarod for saving him and then leaves him alone with Jenna, that was really concerned with her fiancé's well being. Jarod wants her to remember that he is a killer and realizes that she didn't know about the man he killed. Later on, Jarod discovers Jenna's file in Pritchard's safe.

At The Centre, Miss Parker and Broots go to the place where the experiments with Raines' toxin are done. Broots is exposed to it and immediately has trouble breathing. Miss Parker asks him to find everything he cans about the project, while she meets with Giuseppe. She also tells him to let Sydney take a look at him.

Jarod argues with Alonzo for he discovered that Pritchard found out who Jenna is. Despite Jarod's disagreement, he doesn't take Jenna out of the operation. Jarod speaks with Pritchard and tells him that he knows about the money and that Jenna is from ATF. Pritchard says that he is going to use her to escape to another country and then shows him a picture of Cassie.

Miss Parker is in a church, talking to Father Giuseppe. She wants to know what Raines told him about the toxin in confession, but he tells her that he didn't speak about that. Then, and without believing in Giuseppe, Miss Parker accuses him of flirting with her in a church, but he says that it didn't happen that way  - she came to him. He says that she re-wrote history, because she needs that to survive, as well as enemies to feed her anger. Miss Parker accuses him of being Raines' co-conspirator and Giuseppe tells her that she has to forgive, or otherwise she will live in eternal suffering. When she leaves, Miss Parker says that God forgives, she doesn't.

Jarod is trying to convince Jenna not to go with Pritchard, but she is afraid for her daughter. In that night, Jenna says to Pritchard that she has a confession to make, but before she says something, Jarod shows up and warns her to keep her mouth shut. Jenna ends up telling him that she'll do whatever he wants her to, if he promises not to hurt Cassie. Pritchard shoots Jarod, making him fall to the ground. Pritchard takes Jenna with him and tells her that he was really in love with her. Suddenly, Jarod reappears - he is okay, after all, because the bullets were blanks. With Pritchard's gun, the ATF has the proofs it needs to incriminate him. Jenna takes the engagement ring off and gives it to Pritchard. Jarod tells him that "karma" is a bitch. Then, Jarod speaks with Alonzo and informs him of the place he can find Pritchard, as well as his badge.

Broots and Sydney tell Miss Parker that Veritas relaxes the lungs until the point where they can no longer breath oxygen and that is one of the theories to the sudden death of infants. Miss Parker immediately remembers her baby brother and takes him out of the incubator. Raines is near it and tells her that the baby is cured thanks to his version of Veritas that he used to clean up the baby's lungs. Raines also tells her that there are many villains at The Centre, but that he can no longer be one of them. He gets out of the office, leaving Miss Parker with her baby brother in her arms.

In St. Charles Church, Cassie is taking her first communion and Jenna arrives just in time to see her. Jarod watches from a distance.
