ZIHAN

I have always respected VM as she does what she believes in and what she likes, regardless of being lauded by classical critics and somewhat rejected by the main stream. She had changed what the public percieves to be "screaming, high- pitched, violin music" and is one of the pioneers opening the frontiers for this "popsical" genre of music. She has created violin music for not just herself but us, the people yearning to break free from the conventional drone of pop but not yet mature enough to take on classical. In this sense I find her music is like a bridge, transending all cultures, linking us from the pop to the classical world, and this is why i like her music.
