USS Devilfish Log 3 Jenkins reporting-We have been at sea for three weeks. We are at our target island location. Joe's men are getting ready to depart. I don't know if they are glad to leave the confines of this sewer pipe, but some do appear troubled at what awaits them. Island "S" is a tropical paradise. What a terrible price of war. P1- Captain-"Ok, we should be near our destination and last way point. Up scope!"
P2-Joe-"How does it look captain?" Capt.- "I see the island and the lagoon, no visual on any enemy. "
P3-Joe -"Do you see the river?" Jenkins-"Yes, it's there all right."
P4-Capt-"Here Joe take a look and see for yourself."
P6 Capt- "Get your men ready Commander."
P7- Capt.- "Radar all clear?" Crew-"Aye, Aye Sir!"
P8- XO-"Start your diesels Chief!"
P9-Jenkins-"XO brings us into the lagoon, water is to choppy out here. Anything yet on radar?" Radar man- "Negative sir. All clear."
P10- Jenkins-"Joe, get you men ready; we are entering the lagoon. Lookouts to the bridge!"
P11- Joe-"Hurry up men, these boys want to get their sardine back at sea."
P12- Jenkins-"God be with you men! We'll keep your bunks nice and dry for your return."
