After a brief jubilation, the men exchange info and war stories to each other. P23
My Tank commander ordered us to attack the beachhead but we were hit by naval
gunfire. The enemy must have had spotters ,they knew the exact location and
range. My tiger S14 was ripped in half like a clamshell! The commander was never
found. I assume he was killed! the only thing left our loader and driver you
wouldn’t be able to scoop up in a shovel. I have been with these guys since.
" Herman-" We have been fighting tooth and nail with heavy losses.
“Fritz- I wish we could work out some type of surrender but our higher ups are
either terrified of the Fuhrer or they must be terrified of war crimes. A
lot of people have been killed in this war , someone is going to have to except
the responsibility. Now they have conjured up some battle plan that they told us
is going to save the Fatherland, if there is a fatherland left to save.

not too concerned about, but those forces to the east when they cross into our
country we are all dead. We are the only thing in their way.

the allies off even more and waste what we have left, Us!"
