You've met us, now it's time to meet some of the other people who confront us in the Pokémon world. Some are good, some are bad, but sometimes they can be helpful too. You'll see what we mean!
Brock
Brock is our travelling companion on our journey through the Pokémon world. He comes from Pewter City, is part of a large family, is also a great cook and is the city's Gym Leader.
Even because of that, Brock's dream is to one day become a first-class Pokémon breeder, and raise them with lots of love and devotion. His Pokémon include Vulpix, Geodude, Zubat, Onix, Forretress, Lotad and Mudkip.
Brock's one weakness is really pretty girls. Whenever he confronts one, he goes weird.
Team Rocket
What is the Pokémon world like without bad guys, and Team Rocket fits the bill.
Jessie and James are two ambitious people who travel the world with only one goal in mind-to find and steal rare Pokémon. They have come after Pikachu so many times, and yet their plans have been foiled each time they try.
With their companion, Meowth and their Pokémon Wobbuffet, Cacnea, Seviper and Dustox (they let their Arbok and Weezing go in the Hoenn region), they are always up to no good, although there have been times when they were actually useful, like the time they helped cheer on Pikachu in his battle against Raichu in Vermilion City, or the time they helped us rescue some caged Pokémon from two other Rocket members, Butch and Cassidy.
Professor Oak
Professor Oak is a renowned Pokémon scientist who is based in Pallet Town, where Ash lives. He is the one who gave Ash his Pikachu when he started on his journey.
Although he can be quite bizarre at times, he can be helpful too, because of the advice he gives to trainers who are just starting out. He is also the grandfather of Gary, Ash's main rival.
Gary
Gary is Ash's neighbor and main rival, not to mention the grandson of Professor Oak.
Ash gets really mad whenever he shows up, because he is always bragging about the many Pokémon that he's caught. But Gary had a change of heart after the Johto League competition, when he decided to patch up his differences with Ash and follow his dream of being a Pokémon Researcher.
Nurse Joy
This cheerful person (or should we say, these cheerful people, because they are all over the place!) takes care of the Pokémon Center, a hospital for sick Pokémon found in most major cities. With the help of her trusty assistants called Chansey, she tends to sick Pokémon and helps them to get better.
She also gives advice to trainers on occasion to help their Pokémon become stronger and healthier.
Officer Jenny
Like Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny has relatives all over the place. She is a slick motorcycle cop who maintains the peace in all major towns around the Pokémon world. She gives useful information to trainers and makes sure that people are respecting the law.
Tracey
When Brock decided to stay on Valencia Island with Professor Ivy, we met Tracey on another island in the Orange Archipelago. Tracy is a Pokemon Watcher, who likes to study Pokemon up close. We also forgot to metion that he is an incredible artist and that he idolizes Professor Oak. Tracey is currently in Pallet Town helping the Professor with his research.
Togepi
Misty: Togepi is a very rare Pokemon that was discovered by Ash, Brock and I in Grandpa Canyon. Togepi is known to like the first person who comes into contact with it when it hatches. I'm glad it fell into my hands, because Togepi is so cute!
Marill
Marill was first introduced in the Pokemon mini-movie Pikachu's Vacation and travelled with us as one of Tracey's Pokemon. Marril is a Water-type Pokemon who uses its tail to act as a guide for us as it swims in the water. It also has excellent hearing, and can distinguish the call of another Pokemon from miles away
May
May is an energetic, free-spirited girl from Petalburg City, in the Hoenn region. She decided to become a Pokémon trainer just so she could travel and see the world. But after seeing how wonderful they can be, May decided to follow a new path and become a Pokémon Coordinator (a trainer who raises Pokémon for special contests). Her Pokémon include Torchic and Beautifly.
Max
Max is May's little brother. He is very smart and intrigued by Pokémon, especially their evolutions. Max has no Pokémon of his own, but he uses his PokéNav tool to steer Ash and his friends in the right direction. Both he and May are the children of Norman, Petalburg City's Gym Leader.
