Center Court & Jogging Track on Star Princess

High up on Sports deck, all the way forward, is Center Court, Star Princess basketball/paddle tennis court. Predominantly covered by permanent tarp, and surrounded by windows, the court is protected from harsh winds produced by the ship's forward motion, while still permitting cooling breezes to penetrate through to the game's participants. A ball containing net encircles the court so there will not be any balls flying over the side into the sea. This is an ideal setup for playing in the Caribbean, without suffering from the intense heat. Very nice!

Times for paddle tennis games are posted in the daily Princess Patter, usually in the afternoons. There is no organized play for Basketball, so, when you get a group of player, just head on up. For basketball, only half court play is available: there is just one backboard!

The specially surfaced, granulated jogging track encircles the Sports deck in the forward portion of the ship. A mile equals 10 circumnavigations. Traction is excellent although I think a surface with a little more bounce may have helped. There are no organized Jogs, but, the location above the Lotus Spa should mean no complaints should anyone decide on a late night, mid night or early morning run!
