Lotus Spa & Beauty Salon on Star Princess

A PARNAMI Cruise Page

The Lotus Spa encompasses Star Princess multi-service beauty, health and spa treatment facility.  Guests enter the facility through a Japanese theme foyer area, before moving on to the marble corridor and to the service desk where appointments may be made for beauty salon and spa treatment services.   The beauty salon, located to the right off this main corridor, continues with the marble and granite theme in a spacious environment.   Hair care, facials, manicures and other service stations carefully, have been located to provide customers with views of the passing ocean while the "gals" work their magic.

Continuing along, the plant lined corridor turns into the first of three fitness rooms, all executed in the minimalist Japanese style introduced in the entrance foyer.  This first room is the gymnasium for free weight exercises.  Moving past the gym, we come upon the cardiovascular workout facility with its dozen or so treadmills lining the floor to ceiling windows.  An additional dozen stationary bikes, upright and recumbent, face the forward wall of windows.   A further array of scary looking contraptions the purposes, of which I have not a clue, round out the balance of this facility dedicated to the art of sweat.

A separate and isolated aerobics facility occupies the last of the three rooms of the fitness spa.  Organized events are scheduled throughout the day from 8 in the morning through 6 at night.  In addition to the normal free types of classes: Aerobics, body conditioning, etc, a $10 per session fees is charged for others.  Sessions requiring payment include Yoga, Pulse Group Cycling, and Kick Bo X press.  I cannot fathom their justification for levying such fees.

One of the more important changes to Star Princess, versus her older sisters, was the moving of the children's out of the area adjacent to the spa, to a more segregated, larger location aft.  The vacated space was absorbed within the Lotus Spa, which added private treatment rooms, Rasul, a Thermal Suite and the exclusive Lotus Sanctuary to the newly expanded facilities.

Normal hours for the Lotus Spa range from 8 AM until 10 PM.  Anyone wondering why they cannot remain open 24 hours, ask the Captain.  His apartment lies below it!
