Prego Pizza/Mermaid's Tail Bar/Trident Grill on Star Princess

Prego Pizza, Trident Grill and Mermaid's Tail provide food and beverage service to the Neptune Pool area. All are adjacently located, forward of the pool area, behind windows protecting it from chilly breezes.

Prego Pizza and Trident grill are counter service facilities with passengers queuing up for individualized service. Prego prepares a choice of three pizzas of the day, all freshly prepared and available by the slice. Regular Cheese pizza is always included as one of the three selections. The pizza probably will not satisfy those with tastes leaning towards thick crust Chicago style; these are about the thinnest crusts physically, it is possible to bake! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Others do not!

While it's not possible to order whole pies, you may take as many slices as you wish, and may carry them to the pool, your cabin, or, pretty much anywhere else on board that suits your fancy. Hours for service are slightly limited, ranging from 11:00 am until 6:00 PM. If you are looking for a midnight pizza snack, you will be out of luck!

Complementing Prego Pizza is Trident Grill providing the identical service hours as Prego. Here, passengers may select from a menu of hot sandwiches with leanings toward German influence: including: Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Veggieburgers, Chicken Breast, Bratwurst, Hot Dogs, Knockwurst, Sauerkraut and French Fries. All are grilled to order, including the sausages, so, wait times, often, are longer than they should be. The servers move as automatons and no amount of persuasion will get them to alter or differentiate from their programming.

Sandwiched between the two food counters is the Mermaid's Tail Bar. This 17 seat full service bar facility services the entire Neptune's Reef Pool and, at times, can be quite busy. For safety purposes, drinks are served in plastic glassware. I suggest passengers look out for the HUGE sizes, just perfect for lounging by the pool…sipping…..and ……..sipping..………..and ……sipping your afternoon away!
