Terrace Pool on Star Princess

Located aft on Aloha Deck, the adults only Terrace pool is overlooked by three decks of terraces lending an amphitheater feel to the area. The pool itself is placed well back so that "swimmers" are able to view the ship's wake trailing behind. A sweep of descending curved teak benches form a windbreak in addition to providing worshipers with place to lay and soak up the sun (or, more often, because of the bulk of Skywalkers looming above, the shade!). Steps lead down into the pool instead of ladders, making it accessible to passengers with slight mobility impairments. This is one of two adult only pool areas and, usually, plenty of available chairs can be found nearby. A common complaint of many past passengers cruising this class of ship stems from the deep shadow cast from the Skywalker's Lounge, looming directly overhead. Diamond Princess, the next vessel in this series will deal with it by moving Skywalker's forward, away from above the Terrace Pool.

At least once per cruise, a specially created platform attaches to the pool, covering it and forming a bandstand and stage area for an outside deck party, which, for many, becomes a highlight of the cruise. Steps away is Horizon Court, Star Princess' 24-hour food court/restaurant so snacks, never are very far away.
