![]() Vista Showlounge on Star Princess
A PARNAMI Cruise Page
The third and least of Star Princess' facilities for major entertainment, the Vista Show lounge is also the venue most lacking in accommodation. Seating 457, some of them comfortably, in size the Vista Show lounge falls between the Princess Theater and Explorer's Lounge. In facility, it lags far behind them both!
Hindered by low ceilings, many pillars and a low stage, this is an awful lounge in which to watch a show! Anyone entering late, in accessing the left portion of the room will find himself routed directly in front of the spotlights, projecting on the stage their silhouettes as they pass. Of course, after having done so, they will find themselves having been blinded by the BRIGHT lights, as they stumble around the darkened theater running into and across other passengers in the process.
Once seated, they may or may not find their views of the stage blocked by any of a number of support pillars seemingly randomly placed throughout the showroom. Provided they DO find they have a view of the stage, from most positions, it will be of the performers from the waist up only. The low stage combined with insufficient tiering of the seats makes it impossible for anyone not seated in the front row to see more than that! For long time cruisers remembering the days of the original cruise vessels of Royal Viking, with their similar too low ceilings and poor sightlines, this is a case of déjà vu that should not have happened! It is horrible!
To the plus side, Vista Show lounge does provide individual chairs and settees arranged around small cocktail tables. Wide aisles provide adequate space for waiters, easily, to circulate with drinks.
During the cruise, Vista Show lounge will be the venue used for: feature films, bingo, port and shopping lectures, cabaret performances, dance lessons, horse racing, all, for which it's adequately suited. It also serves as the venue for the Pub Night comedy show, the passenger talent show and a couple high-energy dance production shows, for which it is NOT!
A small bar is open during hours when entertainment is provided.
