Wheelhouse Bar on Star Princess

A PARNAMI Cruise Page

Moving aft from Explorer's, we come upon the Wheelhouse Bar with its spacious, "gentleman's" club atmosphere.   Furnished in dark woods and leather, the Wheelhouse is stocked full of P&O memorabilia denoting the company's maritime history.

First impressions to the contrary, while seating only 107, the Wheelhouse is a large lounge filled with nooks and crannies in which to hide and get comfortable.  A side annex, all but hidden from the entrance, provides the perfect escape for avoiding those annoying tablemates we all seem to get, eventually.  Not only is this annex hidden, its location along the portside windows makes it among the most well lit and open feeling space on board.  A dance floor and bandstand will be found at the rear, adjacent to the annex area.  Unfortunately, views of the sea are blocked somewhat, but the outside promenade running just outside.   Good luck finding views of the sea on this ship!  They are rare.  At least, most passengers will have a verandah on which to sit on or by in their cabin, effectively making the lack of good viewing areas elsewhere on the ship, largely, immaterial.

Scheduled daytime events are few, but do include trivia and similar passenger participation type games.  They are always held in the rear of the Wheelhouse so; participants will receive no help from passengers passing by during play.  This also means passing passengers will not happen upon the game while in progress, so numbers of players tends to be lower than might be expected.  At least you will know these players are dedicated!

During the evening, a musical trio plays dance music beginning at 5:30pm and continuing until late.

Scheduled bar hours run from 5:00pm until Late.
