The Outside Promenade on Star Princess

A PARNAMI Cruise Page

Star Princess continues with what, now, has become a traditional feature among Princess new buildings: a wraparound outside promenade.  Star Princess, like her sister Grand Princess Class Ships, goes one step better though, extending the outside promenade to the extremes at both ends.  Passengers walking forward, follow the winding contours of the Promenade as it routes outside of the ship's fuselage, passes by four wonderfully inexpensive verandah cabins before turning back inward and continuing along the edge of the bow to the very prow of the vessel.  This is the spot where passengers may do their best Leonardo DiCaprio imitation as "King of the World".   Wind, although it can be excessive, somewhat is blocked by the steel bulkheads just behind the promenade.

The promenade itself is decked, in the most part, by genuine teak with portions utilizing the same imitation teak covering used on some decks aboard ships of Holland America.  Wooden benches provide seating for those so wishing, along the span of the deck. NO comfortable lounge chairs are to be found anywhere along the Promenade!
