228 standard outside cabins on Star Princess feature all of the amenities provided the lower categories of accommodation with the addition of a bit more space in which to move about (sizes range between 165 and 210 sq feet). The bed(s) are to the side, common, wall, opening up space by the window for the vanity. A second chair has been added, which, likely, will be used as much for storage of accumulated purchases as it will be for actually sitting. The window itself is "picture window" sized and, irrespective of the cabin category selected, will NOT be a porthole view.

Cabins located forward, particularly those on Emerald and Plaza decks WILL hear music, particularly bass, during shows from the Princess Theater whose loft and pit areas adjunct just across the cabin corridors. These sounds should only present problems for those trying to sleep during the evening shows. Occasionally, during rehearsals, some sound will emanate as well, but not nearly at the levels of volume that occur during Show times. Although this should not present major inconveniences for passengers booked into these areas of the ship, knowledge of the potential for trouble before hand possibly could prevent problems later.

Bathrooms are typical of all standard accommodations on Star Princess with a comfortably sized shower stall (along with the ever present, "friendly" shower curtain), toilet and sink. Along side the mirror over the sink, three small stacked shelves provide nominal space for bathroom sundries. A "shell" dish contains Princess' soap, shampoo and conditioner (in those infernal paper packages). A wide shelf stretches side to side beneath the sink basin to for overflow items.
