the Spectre raced through the atmosphere explosions rocking it as it went down Morianna struggled with the controls. Tratchenberg checked the sensors again, the Tau didn't seem concerned with a few human lives, they were mobilising from one of their bases but would not get to the crash site until the team was well away from it. the ship came down Kaia felt it bounce and then skid as they landed on Sa'cea. As they stumbled out of the ship Dana sent one final communication saying something was on fire and going to explode. The team ran into the trees and took positions to watch the final explosion. As they watched Tratchenberg thought the ship looked more like a pod thanks to the landing. the ship blew up, while they were far enough away that it didn't hurt the shockwave knocked them off their feet. As they picked themselves up Darian found to his amusment that his bionic hand had cut away half the tree he got blown past. team got together and headed out, they had a fair distance to cover before nightfall... "Lets move," whispered Thraxus into his Vox unit to the rest of the team. It was dark now, and they were only a few hundred metres from the base. It was heavily gaurded, although not insurmountably so since they had the element of surprise. team pulled themselves forwards on their bellies through the undergrowth, they had fanned out slightly to get a better line of attack. looked slowly along the walls of the imposing sand yellow structure through the scope on his rifle, he was searching for gaurds, he whispered into his vox unit whenever he saw one. "one... two..... three... four fire warriors in sight, theres probobly a squad or two somewhere.... blast, and a battlesuit already loaded up, they must have taken some extra precautions!" cool james, they havent seen us, dont fire yet but keep the fire warriors in sight...." Thraxus pondered for a second, "Jade, what should we do? Do you see any more gaurds from your position?" Inquisitor Jade and her team had taken this chance to move round close to the front entrance, she might have a better veiw to take a decision. can't see a huge amount, I see the 4 guards and battlesuit. Morianna is also intercepting tranmissions from the Tau but she can't tell if it is back to their base or to other guards. I agree with James though, there will be more around. Darian is ready to take the battlesuit." Just as Thraxus was about to reply a squad of warriors walked out the the main entrance. "Feth, Morianna go deal with guards, Thraxus can you gain that squads attention?" Thraxus smiled and turned to James, "kill the Tau at the front of that squad". James obliged Thraxus with a perfectly placed shot into the Tau sensor on the helmet. As the Tau scattered Darian shot the leg off the suit and Vinian rose from behind the squad and unleashed with his heavy stubber. And then all hell broke loose... Hosstor was disturbed from his meditating by alarms "what are these blasted aliens up to now?" he thought. He reluctantly got up and strapped a pulse carbine to his back. His knives were ready to be covered in blood. He peeked out the door of his room, and saw nothing, but heard voices. Hosstor put his knives away and pulled out his carbine. The voices led him to a fight between tau and unknown attackers. Hosstor stayed in the shadows shooting, but his shots all seemed to go wide... Outside the sheer volume of fire that the Tau squad was putting out was almost starting to light up the hills. Fortunately they were firing totally blind. In the Front of the Gate Jade and her team were putting down a rain of fire onto the front gate, moving from firing position to position so the Tau couldnt pin them down. shots werent having much effect, but they werent meant to. Slowly the vast majority of the Tau gaurds moved round to the front of the gate, into the cover of the raised bunker walls there. Only one fire warrior remained at the side walls, trying to cover anyone else who might be out there. Dana." Thraxus whispered am in position." Dana said back, "This ones for Leon San V!" Suddenly the Tau warrior spun round, hearing a slight noise behind him. He couldnt see anything, just a blur, he raised his arm to his visor to try and wipe it off as he dropped to a firing position on his knee. he looked again the blur filled his whole vision, then he clearly made out the shape of a human clad in a tight seemingly grey suit for a millisecond, he made to pull the trigger on his rifle, but he was too late. Dana's inactive chain knife buried itself deap in his neck, and the fire warrior died without a sound. "Walls clear Thraxus..." said Dana, above her Red sirens flashed and blared as sleepy T'au gaurds were awakened to duty. The other two memebers of the squad ran up to the wall and edged along it to the corner. The they heard the battlesuit start to clump forward, the Tau warriors using its vast armoured bulk as cover. Its advanced sensors had clearly spotted the team at the front of the wall..... had been picking off the Tau one by one but with the battlesuit advancing on them he changed target. At that moment Dana and Morianna assaulted the rear of the Tau. They had killed three before the Tau realised and proceeded to slaughter the rest of the guards. Darian, free to raise his head again lined up the battlesuit. Where James' shots were just bouncing off the armour the ball of plasma ripped through the machine, incinerating the pilot. Vinian sprayed the building with fire and as the Tau ducked for cover the team advanced into cover at the main entrance way. heard the guns roaring from my suite. What in the blue hell...i thought. Men were shouting, and what bothered me was the fact that they were not MINE. I tightened my robe around my wizened skin, the sad effects of the multiple sclerosis and dying cells, and fastened my sheathe onto my belt. These intruders would pay, i thought, my daemonblade purring in response. I grabbed the autopistol on the night table next to me, and checked the clips: full. There would be hell to pay... called for my entourage, i would be going nowhere till i was good, ready, and very, very safe.... battlesuit collapsed backwards, flames puring from the burning wreck of the cabin. Thraxus breathed in deeply, here was his element and the T'au were suffering like his parents had. shiffled along the front wall from one side, Kaia from the other. They had to be careful, they didnt know what was behind the door. All the members of the team were at the front wall now, pouring fire into the l shaped entrance corridoor to keep any gaurds pinned inside. in position James, blow the doors!" said Dana gleefully, she was still high from the slaughter of the Tau warrior a few seconds ago. on it, " James said, and ran forward from his concealed position, he slung his rifle over his shoulder, trusting the firepower of the others to keep the T'au inside. After a brief sprint he stood next to Kaia at the front entranceway. He pulled a thermal charge from his pack, primed it and sent it bouncing down the corridor. others stopped firing a few seconds earlier, hoping not to set the charge of early. All was silent for a few long seconds it seemed before the enormous sound of a high explosive charge rang through the air. A single Tau ran out of the entranceway, his skin burning. Hmm, thought Thraxus, curiosity really did kill the cat! voice came over the ear units, "Lets move in down the corridoor, in pairs! Cover each other!" They began to move down the corridoor towards the hopefully smahed door around the far corner. stepped out of my suite, the inner labs quiet...for now anyways. I knew that getting through the outer sanctum wouldn't be too difficult, but getting here, where I was, i laughed at the thought. Surely it was impossible...the Tau had the place guarded inside and out. was out there, i knew, and i would have to find a way to get him quickly and quietly...i knew that he was one of my top bodyguards, outmatching even the death cultists that the Creeping Shadow had sent me. I needed him alive...if only i could find him.. reached out with my mind, and realised one key thing: the sanctum was not psi-shielded. I cursed the Taus' incompetence, then my own. Regardless, i had found Hosstor...i would make sure he found his way to me.... Hosstor heard a wisper in his head. "labs". Hosstor knew what to do. He quickly ran past the fighting and into a small passage way. After a few identification tests, Hosstor found his way into the inner labs. Nexus was waiting for him... was alone in his chamber, the light off as always. He felt most at home in darkness. The black sword lay on the bed, still in its scabbard. Turning to look at the security camera, he narrowed his eyes, and concentrated. Somewhere, a screen went blank. Pulling back his hood, he took the jade eagle from around his neck, and stowed away in a hidden pocket. Withdrawing the amulet of the burning eye, he put it on, and took a third object from his robes. It was a flat disc of green metal, inscribed with various complex runes. He placed it on the floor, and stood back. Reciting the incantation, he closed his eyes and tapped into the warp. runes began to glow brightly, and the disc span on the floor, slowly rising into the air. Turning on its axis it became it a circle of green light, and burst into flames. The eye opened, and Greeneye regarded his servant. Dark spoke. Lord, I have contacted you as promised. What would you have me do? voice spoke in his head, menacing and yet strangely comforting in the protection he knew it gave him. APPOINTED TIME HAS BEEN REACHED. ALESSANDRO NEXUS DIES THIS NIGHT. I am yet to gather the information you required. HAVE ARRANGED IT WITH AN ALLY. IGNATIUS THE ALL-KNOWING WILL GIVE YOU THE DATA I REQUIRE. WHEN YOU HAVE IT, LEAVE NEXUS TO HIS FATE. you command, master. There is no end. THERE IS ONLY CHANGE. flames went out, and the eye sank slowly to the floor and came to rest. He picked it up, and put it back in his robes. Then he slid the sword scabbard through the hidden pocket into the lining of the cloak, and pulled his hood back up. His task complete, Dark left the room, shutting the door behind him. As he pushed it closed, the room burst into flame, and in minutes the whole corridor was an inferno. Dark and Ignatius met and the data-slate was handed over, the complex began to burn. And a daemon's laughter echoed in the crackle of the flames. appeared from the shadows, knives sheathed and his carbine slung over his back. "Have you any idea whats going on?!" i wheezed, slightly out of breath despite the fact i had done barely anything. Jacob nodded, and helped me walk over to the dungeons, where i kept my 'reinforcements'. "We're under attack, Tau are dropping like flies." I grumbled, "Summon Ignatius, i will have 'them' prepared just incase." Jacob nodded and took off to await the attackers with my daemonhost. I had no doubts this foolish attack by whoever it was would be stopped. Or so a calming voice in my head spoke, i knew that if the attackers had come this far, there was very little standing between me and them. I laughed, if the Chief Justice couldn't do it, then who could? They would learn the wrath of Alessandro Nexus in due time..... they moved through the ground floor dispatching the Tau guards they came across. Darian and Vinian stayed at the main door guarding the entranceway. They found a small barracks on the ground floor, it had another squad of Tau getting into their armour and checking weapons. Tratchenberg hit the door release and threw a grenade in. Jade and Kaia burst through the door with guns blazing the rest of the team carried on searching. The Tau had no hope at such close range. Once they had cleared the ground floor Morianna went to the back door and stretched a monofilament wire across the door at knee height, anyone running through the door would have their legs cut off. With that done they advanced to the first floor. stairs down to the first basement floor were heavily fortified, there were a pair of rapid fire railguns pointing down the approach corridoor from the ceiling above, it led out to a T junction. The team approached from the right, Dana in front using her stealth suit hoping to cover all the people behind her should a Tau burst out. the rear Morianna walked backwards next to James, they both heard a agonised scream followed by a heavy thump. "Tau are just like the rest of us in some ways I guess James, " she whispered, "They cant see monofilament wire either!" smiled and dropped ot one knee, sheltering the rear of the group in case any Tau should find a way round the razor wire. At the front Dana had spotted the two railguns in the ceiling, she took a running jump and flipped accross the gap to the other side. Rail rounds slammed into the wall behind her, "AI tracking, not manual!" she said back acroos the corridoor to Thraxus, "My stealth suit wont affect it!" "Feth," thraxus swore, "What shall we.."suddenly his arm seemed to take on a mind of its own. He grabbed his bolt pistol in it, spun out and before the railguns had recharged slammed a bolter round iton each ones visual imager. The whole team looked at him shcoked for a few seconds you insane?" Jade said, " You could have been killed!" dont know, i didnt want to do it.." Thraxus looked down at the arm, "I guess machine spirits dont like AI's any more than we do.." time to chat people!" james said, running to take up a position covering the stairs, "lets go!" they moved down the stairs they heard fire from above, Darian and Vinian were getting forced back. They continued down the stairs they couldn't help them now. After coming across a few more gun emplacements they reached a thick door. As the team got ready to storm through the door James placed the meltabomb on the door. Waiting around the corner James pressed the button. In a huge explosion of light the door crashed down to the ground. and Morianna shielded their eyes from the intense light and heat. A figure could be seen, hovering, through the doorway. Swathed in black cloth, head to toe, and glowing with a hellish light, Ignatius spoke, "you mortals have come too far. It is endgame." Jade unsheathed her sword fluently, the daemon writhing with anticipation. Morianna did likewise. daemonhost hissed, it knew there was something amiss. Tossing off the cloak, Ignatius revealed its true form. From each limb, multitudes of colored, liquidy tentacles erupted, a horned head at the end of one. The creature snarled, and launched its assault. Ignatius was prepared for the daemonblade, well acquainted with the bound daemon already. It hissed its frustration, pausing for a moment. The tentacles began to change, shiverign and rippling profusely. Slowly, they solidified, forming several weapons from each arm. wicked halberd, axe ,sword, and rapier Ignatius now had at its disposal, flahing each before his stunned opponents. Jade and Morianna were on their toes, it was like fighting four foes at once! Some how, the beast had altered its form, from a psychically potent host to a combat monster, hacking and slashing with little skill involved. Parry, ripose, parry, dodge, there was seemingly no end to it. Ignatius cackled, "its over, you have no way out. I psychically and physically outclass you. give up now, and i may consider sparing your souls..i cannot say the same for your bodies," the creature licked its lips. Jade Tratchenberg was no fool, however, she knew what to do..... party ran through the door after Jade and Morianna, overcoming the daemonfear only a few seconds after the two who had engaged it. Thraxus pushed through first, he had not even felt the wave of horror rolling off the daemon. first it was hard to make out the combatants, the daemonhost was clearly so strong that reality seemed to shift and shape around it. The light seemed to be sucked from the room as the beast fought the two women, its many weaponed arms flailing madly. The 4 of them stood there, seemingly unable to move for a period, hypnotised by the motions of the combat, the ebb and flow of the battle. Thraxus' biomechanical implant seemed to be the first thing to respond, the blue lines on it shifted from blue to red and it again seemed to take over for a brief period. Thraxus' arm snapped to his back and pulled out his bolt pistol again. took aim, with more care then any real arm could, and BLAM... BLAM. Two shots rocketed fromt he muzzle towards the daemon, they seemed to warp and twist in mid air, by the time they struck the daemon they were barely moving, as if he had fired them 4 miles rather than 4 metres. "Cursed beasts!" Thraxus reestablished control, not noticing his brief lapse and drew out his double power swords. He had intended to join the fight against Ignatius when suddenly.... saw the man whom i believed to be Thraxus from a different. A bionic arm, dark carapace, and a very, very angry look. He had taken a few pot shots at my creation, but i knew that i would not live through as many as Ignatius. I had already unleashed it, it was out of the cage now. I knew X alone should be able to overcome the Inquisitor and his friends, but i had extra. I snapped my fingers frantically, "Its time my son. ITs time...." I heard the low, guttural growls from behind me. Project X was here... loomed over all the combatants, it made Ignatius seem small and frail in comparison. IT was nearly eight feet, its wings, however, easily topped that height. The crimson, jagged wings stretched as X roared, its face a mask of hatred and Chaos. Horns sprouted from its rigid back and head, along with the many blades on its mutilated power armor. runes on its chest plate glowed brightly, the creature snapping the chains binding it to the wall with ease. It had no hands, so to speak, rather two crab-like claws, bigger than a mans head, capabable of crushing one like a lemon. It roared again, Thraxus did not falter though. had one more trick up my sleeve, if Ignatius did not prevail over the two figures it was fighting. Daemoniac 00-1 prowled behind me, a frightening sight itself. Two implanted axes, and the looks and power of an arco-flagellant, would most likely make the attackers believe it was one. They would be proven wrong. I snapped out of my thoughts, watching the huge monstrosity, Project X, lurch towards Thraxus, and the two men at his side.... "You've gone too far Nexus!" cried Hosstor viewing the 'creations'. He knew Nexus crossed the line. He wasn't fighting for the Emporer, he was fighting for the cursed false gods. He had to be stopped. Hosstor pulled out his knives and lept twords the struggling Thraxus. With a high kick Hosstor was able to knock X back, but not for long. The project swung, but Hosstor was too nimble and jumped over the blow... the emperor..." stammerred James, looking at the enormity of the beast that was striding towards them. He took a step back, as did the others bar Thraxus, nothing could stand against this thing. Thraxus stood stock still for a second, his eyes flicking back and forth. He wasnt sure that he could fight this and live, suddenly he heard a voice in his head, "This is it, just what we hoped to find here, move in the unit!" Suddenly Thraxus' fears vanished, he was overcome with hatred for the beast in front of him, rage flooded through him and he leapt forwards, both his power swords leading with every ounce of strength he could muster. was not enough, project X caught the power blades in each of its claws and snapped out its chains, raking accross Thraxus' body. The thing kicked out, Thraxus ducked inhumanly swiftly from a blow which would have decapitated him. biomechanical arm wrenched its balde free and he swung again, this time at the beasts torso, it laughed horribly and uppercutted thraxus in the chest. The inquisitor flew back and slammed into the wall, his chest sparking and crackling from the power of the blow. "Blood for my master!" the beast spoke, its voice guttaral and harsh, Hosstor looked on in Horror +++ Thraxus scrambled back to his feet, seeing the enormous project x turn away from him. He saw that Hosstor had attacked the beast, normally he wouldnt accept help from traitors he thought, but these were desperate times. He leapt to his feet and ran again at the beast. Hosstor was ducking and diving, trying to stay out of the beasts way. He was nimble and quick and an excellent fighter but the thing was almost unstoppable. The voice sounded again in Thraxus' head, "AGAIN! More power!". Thraxus again felt a surge of energy pulse through him, the bars on his implants glowed white and he swung a massive blow at one of projects x's arms, the beast spun around, nimble beyond its size and raised a claw to parry. time it had no such luck, Thraxus' blade screamed through the air and smashed into the dameons arm with all the force he could muster. The air rippled and swam with the impact and then as suddenly as it had begun, the blow ended. Project X started to laugh again, but then looked down to see its claw was missing and a gash was cut in its side. The claw lay on the floor, snipping randomly. The beasts invulnerability seemed broken and Thraxus and Hosstor began to attack it together... Hosstor and Thraxus circled the creature, blood pouring from X's stump rapidly. The wound began to seal itself, leaving Project X with a bloody stump, and one arm left to combat its two opponents. Thraxus swung again, this time caught by X, learning the folly of fuly parrying an attack from the metal man. Hosstor was behind it now, waiting for a chance to take the brute down from behind. Thraxus' attacks were getting slower and heavier, Jacob decided to make a difference. Using the thing's rigid back as a steping stool, Hosstor leapt up on X's shoulders, his shins and knees getting shredded by the numerous shoulder plate blades. reached back with its arm, but to no avail. Hosstor twiddled his last knife deftly between his fingers, "well," he said, "so much for honor." He drove the blade between the Chaos-imbued creature's skull, causing an earsplitting crack and a shower of blood to spray into his face. Jacob fell backwards, landing on his back on the hard cement floor. wavered, regaining its footing. Hosstor and Thraxus gasped: nothing could survive a blow like that! Project X stood once more at its ful height, spewing gore and acidic blood onto the floor and Thraxus. The Inquisitor screamed as the bile engulfed his armor, sizzling the carapace to liquid. Thraxus scrambled backwards in his prone, crablike position. X's bloodshot eyes rolled back into its skull, groaning...its wings folded up on it as Project X, the decade-long work of Alessandro Nexus, toppled dead to the ground. Blood and guts poured from its split skull, and Nexus let out a cry of distress, he was alone, and surrounded by enemies.... was fighting one of the deathcultists while the other advanced on Kaia and James. The deathcultist fighting Dana was totally out classed her opponent and quickly finished he fight so she could help the others. James kept up a steady fire pattern against the other assassin, Kaia used one stubber to box the assassin into a kill zone and tracked the target with the other. the assassin realised what was happening Kaia took the killing shot. Thinking they had got rid of the danger they turned to see a beast charging them. It shrugged off the wounds caused be the shots from Kaia and James and barrelled into them. As Kaia and James went flying Dana stepped in to fight the thing. Morianna was up and ready to get back into it. She saw the Daemonhost get banished and saw Dana fighting a beast a bit like an acroflagellent. She was about to charge in when Darian came flying around the corner and into the combat. She saw the blow heading for him and could do nothing about it... Daemoniac 00-1, host of the daemon Chiqumorte, swung one of its implant axes at the mortal before. The man's head popped off like a cork, blood geysering from the decapitation. Daemoniac opened its great maw, releasing a psychic shriek and wave of hatred. Vinian cried out in pain and anguish as he saw his friend die. Chiqumorte turned around, seeing the frenzied human running its way, it prepared to swing..Vinian lunged underneath the intoxicated beast's overswing, narrowly missing a gruesome decapitation. Vinian didn't care anymore, this thing had killed his brother, and he wanted vengeance. He drew the plasma grenade...it was do or die, he thought, as Chiqumorte ran his way. Vinian shouted, "come and get it hell-spawn!" Tears streaming down his face, he pulled the pin. The possessed arco-flagellant did not see the grenade in time, so full of rage and drugs it was. It only saw a man waiting to get his head knocked off...Chiqumorte, however, just saw a rather large flash, and then its fleshcage was left in pieces..... Tratchenberg steeped back for a second to focus, as she sent out her psychic sense she saw the attacks coming before they happened in real life, while this was an advantage blocking 3 blades at a time wasn't easy and the thing was so fast. Morianna took a glancing hit from the back swing of the things axe, it sent her flying into the wall. While her sword was absorbing most of the psychic energy sent against her the little that got through was battering her defenses. As she was forced to retreat into a corner Morianna came to. sucked in a deep breath, frantically avoiding the lightning fast swings of the incandescent daemonhost. It laughed more, "you shall die Tratchenberg, i will make sure of it." Jade saw the vision flash before her eyes as the axe narrowly missed her. She saw what she must do. Chanting, the daemon stopped midswing. "What?!" it shrieked, its form beginning to split and crack. Jade kept chanting His prayer, His prayer that had been handed down to the mosr faithful of the Ordo Malleus. The daemonhost's weapons melted down to a thick, viscous sludge, its tentacles whipping around in frenzy. Jade shut her eyes and kept chanting, even louder. The creature screamed as its physical host broke apart and it was sent howling back to the Warp. Jade opened her eyes and dropped on the floor....the encounter had been taxing, but there was work to do... was surprised to look into the eyes of a fellow human, a beautiful young woman in a long black trenchcoat. Assuming it was one of Nexus's cronies, she rolled to her feet. The woman smiled. "Amnon told me you were a good fighter," she said, "but he didn't mention you banished daemons." She held up a data-slate which read simply. ++Inquisitors, Alysha, my associate. She will be joining you. Should you come close to Nexus, she will summon me through the Webway. truth, Amnon++ Tratchenberg nodded. "Right. What do you know of our assault?" a fething thing, I just arrived. What can you tell me?" Sirens blaring, Aun'O Tau'n Or'es got up from his study, called in a Shas'la guard "Shas'la what's going on" majesty there are intruders attacking Gue'vesa'O Nexus' labs" "Inform the other Aun" your majesty" O'J'Kaara walks to his cupboard pulls out his ring and slips it on one of his fingers, grabs his honour blade and rushes outside, as O'J'Kaara rushes out the doors two drone programmed to protect him activates, and starts to follow him. Its chaos Tau running to the Gue'vesa'O labs. was over, it was all over. DeRol had fled my side within minutes after the defenders had broken into the inner sanctum, Jacob Hosstor had betrayed me, and my most powerful servants were....dead. I unsheathed my blade, backing up warily from the cell of killers made up of Inquisitors Thraxus and Tratchenberg, and my former apprentice, Hosstor."Its over Nexus," said Jacob, "its all over. Your madness ends here." shook my head, "No! It cant end like this! Jacob, what are you doing?! Why did you do this to me?!" Hosstor shook his head, "you went too far, you're not the man i once looked up to anymore, you're a heretic Alessandro, simple as that. I lowered the guard because i knew they were coming...you thought Ix was the insider all along, but it was ME." It cant be!" i cried desparately, "What are you going to do with me?" I backed up further, but i soon found there was nowhere else to back up to. I had one more trick though, i thought, and if i was to go down, they would go down with me. Thraxus spat blood, "its over heretic, your life was forfeit since you sold your soul to Chaos." was sweating profusely at this point, gathring all the power i could to myself. I channelled my will through the sword, and i opened a portal to hell. I began ;aughing, knowing we would all die, and that their mission was in vain. But it was Tratchnberg who laughed when nothing happened, "Come now Alessandro, i was there on the Absolute Justice, i saw your powers unleashed. You think i didnt come prepared?" She waved her sword. Impossible, i thought, it had absorbed my powers! complex shook, the fire from Dark's chambers beginning spreading wildy. Where was he, i wondered. Dead no doubt, a voice in my head told me. Jacob sighed, "if you dont give yourself up, we'll do this the hard way, "he said. I shook my head, preparing to go down fighting....but i felt the seizure take me first....damned multiple sclerosis, i thought, as darkness engulfed me. ++ ++ "Quick, grab him and lets get the hell outta here!" yelled Inquisitor Thraxus, gathering his last bodyguards. Hosstor tossed the shaking Nexus on his back, and Jade awaited Amnon's emissary. The webway was open....justice would be served on Terra...the Chief Justice will be pleased, thought Jade..... O'J'Kaara was being transported to the scene by a Devilfish transport, he looked out of the small portholes and saw a Space craft taking off, from what his vision could see he saw the words of "The Avenger of Tacard", he was puzzled but it wasn't his concern he has to sort out what was happening at the Gue'vesa Labs ________________________________________________________________ O'J'Kaara reached the Gue'vesa's labs a Shas'vre who had been controlling the situation addressed the Ethereal majesty the intruders are inside the building, what are your orders" the Broadside Shas'ui, get them to blow up the building. Make sure they keep on firing til the building is down to the ground" you wish your majesty" the Shas'vre replied then sent an order to the Broadside Lissera's. Minutes later six of the hulking XV-88 suits come walking down the street, they stopped planted their stabilisers down to prevent them from being knocked over by the kick of the Railguns. The broadside pilots sent a message to the Shas'vre are reading your majesty" them to Fire" Shas'vre sent the Ethereal's order and the suits opened fire upon the building, Railslugs slammed into the lab and left huge holes in the side. O'J'Kaara turned to the Shas'vre "When they have done, get the Fio'la to clean this up" your majesty"... WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!?" Captain Haddock shouted in Ix's face. care to explain what happened in there?!" he continued. 'hair' stood like angry snakes around his body, he crossed his arms. was on my way to pick up some information onboard when the intruders struck. I ran over to the ship as fast as I could." Ix explained. now we are being questioned by Tau people!" The captain said. leaned back in the chair. had been escorted out of Tau space after some long discussions with Tau representatives and where taking headings for Terra. had been in his chambers for a few hours, the captain assumed that he had picked up some old 'project' that he had left behind when he was handed over. was in a good mood, he had found some ancient documents, made by a man named 'Codicius Ix'. He read the papers as he conducted some experiments... with some tissue and blood samples. time to speak now" yelled Tratchenberg as she grabbed Alysha and ran into the webway as the house collapsed. Followed by Hosstor and then Thraxus and the rest of the team she watched the house coming apart as Alysha closed the entrance to the webway. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ taking us to the world of Espandor?" asked Tratchenberg, as Amnons representitive nodded she asked another question "I suppose you wish to know the events that shaped the situation we just escaped and how we caught him?" gesturing over her shoulder to where Nexus was still being carried by Hosstor. Alysha spoke "My master would be most grateful". Tratchenberg recollectedthe nights events. "We simulated a crash landing and the Tau didn't seem concerned over a couple of humans. We hiked to the fortress Nexus was hiding in. By the time we stormed the hideout it was dark which was a useful as it meant we could get close to the Tau. getting inside we cleaared out the ground floor of all the Tau guards and headed down to the basement. We had to blow a door with melta bombs, waiting on the otherside was Nexus with Hosstor and a few of Nexus' creations." "Within seconds it had dissolved into a brawl, with Morianna's help I banished the Daemonhost, meanwhile Thraxus took on a huge beast, at least eight foot tall. As that happened the rest of the group took out some deathcultists and an acroflagellent type thing which killed Darian. looked as if Thraxus was going to be beaten by his opponent until Hosstor stepped in. At that point you stepped in and distracted me from the final seconds of the fights. Next thing I know was the fortress started collapsing on us and we fled into the webway." think that is all the important details. Most of us have sustained injuries of some sort, I'm not to bad though, Thraxus took a heavy hit to his bionics and they have been sparking ever since. Speaking of his bionics they seemed to take over his body at one point, that is a bit of a worry." said Jade with a worried look on her face, "Now if you'll excuse me I must check on my people." that Tratchenberg turned to look at everyone. Kaia was leaning on James at the back of the group, Morianna was in front of them holding her arm as if it was broken. Dana and Thraxus were next, Dana was quiet, she had been since Darian lost his head right infront of her, Thraxus gave Jade a strange look while his bionics sparked. Last and not least was Hosstor, a smile on his face, pants ripped to shreds and soaked in his blood and most importantly Nexus over his shoulder. Thraxus moved with great caution down the webway portal, despite his preparations the place still seemed unnatural and uncomfortable. The floor beneath him was tiled with blue hexagonal tiles which to him seemed not to fit together properly, but whenever he looked at them closely they seemed natural again. was standing close to him, she had been helping the injured Thraxus for a while, but now Thraxus was walking by himself again. Both of them seemed ill at ease, Dana's hand kept hovering over the activation rune of her plasma pistol whenever she saw anything strange. leaned over to Thraxus and whispered, "This place is... so.... I dont know how to describe it!" she looked around, her eyes flicking about from the eldar gaurdians escorting them to the strange walls of the tunnel, "It just feels wrong!" Thraxus nodded, altough the implant had cut off the pain from its own circuits he could begin to feel the pain of his abilities resurfacing. He hoped they would exit the webway before it grew too strong and he had to use his serum, "It is alien Dana, this how the xenos are." he glanced up at another party of eldar seeming to walk along a tunnel face that was perpendicular to theirs, "and this is more strange than most xenos places!" gaurdian squad escorting them were fanned out all around the party, the eldar had agreed to this use of the webway but clearly they were not comfortable with the daemonic presences they could sense, or the entry of one they knew to be a heretic into the webway. They kept their shuriken catapults at the ready, you could see that they were only waiting for the slightest sign of treachery to take action. seemed slightly calmed by this, "At least its nothing to do with the Tau, by the emperor that fortress was disgusting like everything they build.." "Indeed Dana," Thraxus responded slowly, matching gazes with an eldar who was looking at him strangely. The two stared at each other for a second, and then the eldar returned to scanning the rest of the party. Thraxus looked forward at Jade walking in front of them and his face darkened, he whispered over to Dana, "You were right not to trust her though." Thraxus?" Dana was confused, "She seemed to fight well back there." sword, it is a Daemon blade." Thraxus hissed through his teeth, "That report from Terra was correct! Who knows what darkness we have aided here?" DAE.." Dana almost shouted out loud, then she remembered where she was and lowered her voice, "But we trusted her, is she possessed by it like your wife was?" do not believe so... but I cannot be sure" Thraxus stared intenetly at the scabbard strapped to Jades back, "Daemons are tricky things, it may be hiding its influence." should we do?" asked Dana "Nothing, as dangerous as she may be Nexus is a greater danger," Thraxus gazed at the prisoner, his eyes filed with fury, "And we cannot afford to squabble amongst ourselves in such an emperor forsaken place as this!" guess so Thraxus," Dana's eyes seemed to light up, she had been right about them all along shall do nothing here, I must assume she is not possessed as I am sure the eldar would see it," Thraxus looked over at the representative chatting with Jade, "And they seem calm enough around her. But we shall stay cautious for as long as we remain near that thing." he gestured over at the sword, he was sure he could almost feel its malevolence radiating from it. Sparks burst from his chest implant one more time, a nearby eldar seemed to look over at it and do what Thraxus would have sworn was a scornful grunt, the eldar were always confident in the superiority of their own technology. group continued on together down the seemingly endless webway tunnel. ---------------------------------------------- Partially Intecepted Transmission Mechanicus codes Attempting decryption 987bwhgww fine performance by the unit Indeed and at only 1287gggggg power output, the integration proceeds well the unit suspect, was he al12872hgqwqwtf16w qsydg qwuy ------ 986bibhgfvqiiiiii not, the unit is integrated in his brain functions too now has learned well, and it seems to be totally 21387128 3712983qwdnecronwwuhqu21873 commands. He knew he had done the right thing, he had stopped heresy, he had stopped more deaths, and, most importantly: he had saved his own soul. He sighed heavily, knowing that even if the Inquisition did not return his gratitude, the Emperor would, and that was most important. promised him salvation, they promised him cleansing, but he only prayed that Alessandro recieved this as well, and that Jacob's cleansing was not a bolter shell fired ppoint blank to the skull. Hosstor knew he has betrayed his friend, his friend and mentor. Nay, he thought, his former friend and mentor, and he had done no such thing, he had saved Nexus from total damnation, if that was possible. no, im not controlling Hosstor. Hes gone to GD however, and asked me 2 control him until he gets back. :) still, however, could not help but feel mixed emotions. Alessandro Nexus had saved his life on plenty of occassions, he had taugh Jacob how to bind daemons, how to splice genes, and how to master the art of Chaos. Hosstor only wanted to forget this more, he just wanted sanctuary. "Lets go Jacob," Said Thraxus gruffly, he was still adjustign to the fact an ex-accomplice of Nexus had saved his life. Hosstor gulped and nodded, snapping out of his train of thought... Alysha's vox-link bleeped and she pressed the answering rune. After saying some words in a language none of them understood, she handed the vox-link to Tratchenberg. for you," she said. "Allow me to congratulate you on your success, Inquisitor," a cultured and slightly accented voice said. Tratchenberg immediately recognised the voice of Amnon. "Thank you. Will you be joining you?" Her voice was slightly strained, not in the least surprising as Amnon simply had sent an emmissary to arrive at the last moment rather than appear himself. The ex-inquisitor obviously took her point. apologies for not joining you, but I was quite occupied - an Iron Warrior strikeforce entered the system in which I am located and it took some bitter fighting to expel them. Truth be told, I lost a leg. I hope you understand." do," Tratchenberg said. "But my question still stands." "Sorry. Yes, I will be joining you as soon as possible, at Espandor. I understand that is where you are going." strode down a tunnel of flame, clutching the data-slate to his chest. Around him, the currents of the warp swirled. His master's voice spoke in his head, and he strode towards his destination with the complete confidence of one who has survived hell. "EXCELLENT WORK, DARK. AND SMOOTHLY EXECUTED AS ALWAYS. YOU HAVE PERFORMED ADMIRABLY. YOU WILL NOW DELIVER THE DATA TO THE RELEVANT PARTIES, THEN CONTACT ME FOR YOUR NEXT ASSIGNMENT." of Nexus?" IS STILL OF USE, THE INQUISITION HAVE HIM NOW. Somewhere, a dice was rolled and child's laugh continued. black robed soul gazed upon Dark's figure. Dark knew who he was, but did not look upon the exposed soul of the high priest. wraith-like man crossed his fingers as if praying, for a fraction of a second, Dark saw a ten pointed star. When the vision faded, he saw the man being engulfed in the currents of the warp with one silen hiss: "Juudaasssssssss". |
