Over 25 different Inquisitors views below!
FinrodtheWise
Here's the original from "Project Malleus". Most members of the board have already made it clear what their answers to this would be, but I think it'd be fun to see what everyone would do in the cases described below. Anyway, without further ado:
1. What are your views on the use of Daemonhosts, and if you met an Inquisitor who used one, what would you do to him?
2. What are your relations with Xenos? Do you hunt them down and kill them, or ally with them when possible?
3. If you were called on to kill a Radical Inquisitor that was guilty of the Usage of Daemonhosts and Consorting with Foul Xenos and Speaking Ill of His Most Holy Emperor's Puritans, but the Inquisitor was also a long-time friend, what wuld you do?
4. What are your views on the Adeptus Astartes?
5. Finally, what do you believe the Emperor to be?
So are you Radical or Puritan? It'll be fun to see the answers...
InquisitorRaziel
The Ends Justify the Means.
Ally them when in need, kill them when there no longer useful.
Usage of Daemonhosts, no.
Consorting with Xenos, possibly.
Speaking ill of Puritans, I'd join him.
They are useful pawns.
The God-Emperor is just that, A god.
As Radical as they come.
starnberg
Kill the demonhost and explain the Inquisitor's error to him.
Kill them were prudent, set them against each other and ally where they can be of use (and are too stupid to realise that they are being used)
To kill a fellow Inquistitor is to destroy the glorious Emperors property needlessly. Such men can be reeducated, far more easily than training a replacement.
Fine men (?) Especially the Deathwatch
The glorious personification of the perfect destiny of man kind.
Radical or puritan, I do not know, that is for the hereticus. In my heart I know my faith.
Tbloxham
Daemonhosts are the ultimate expression of heresy, using one is a direct insult to the emperor and clearly demonstrates that the inquisitor involved is guilty of heresy and treachery to the highest degree. The man must be killed and the deamon purged.
Trust not the xenos brethren, all xenos species bar one are heretical scum who deserve no mercy, can never be assosciated with and should all be exterminated. It is sometimes acceptable to use some equipment of the xenos that is not inherantly corrupting in the heat of battle to enable you to kill more xenos and it is not required to kill every xenos you meet if it is part of your greater plan to let them live for the time being, but in the long run I shall only be happy when every intelligent xenos species bar the eldar are destroyed. And even the eldar I only withold judgement on becuae the issue is complex.
This is exactly the case I was presented with with my old mentor Inquisitor Logan, the man I had veiwed as my father for many years. He made a gift to my wife (who served alongside our team as a swordswoman) of a daemonblade that he beleived was safely bound.
It was not and it corrupted her soul and left her nothing more than as daemonic shell. He had takien an eldar wife and fathered half xenos children and although he had been my greatest friend I turned him over to the ecclesiarchy interrogation teams for investigation and excecution. I do not know what fate I had in store for the eldar or for the two half-eldar children they had raised alongside me since they left as I was going to the ship to deal with them, but Inquisitor Logans fate was clear in my mind.
Although I cannot bring myself to speak much of the event and its consequences, suffice it to say that I showed that despite how much I cared for a fellow inquisitor if they turned to chaos I would destroy them.
The adeptus astartes are the emperors holy warriors, closer to him than any other man and deserving of reverence and praise. They are his finest servants and deserving of respect and honour.
The emperor is the supreme God, the super Titan and the living embodiment of the machine god. He is the ultimate expression of our race, the fusion of the souls of all our ancestors and his glory is unsurpassed. His might is imessurable and his wisdom imfinite, he is the galaxies only shield against chaos and our only light in a dark and hostile universe.
I should like to believe myself a puritan, although my beliefs on the eldar mark me somewhat outside the purity of the emperors creed.. However I still believe I can name myself a puritan without fear of counter.
Praise the emperor

No man alive has the strength of will to bind a daemon as a slave indefinatly, and the Damonhost would inevitably corrupt them. I would banish or trap the daemon and kill the one I found using it, for even if they are not yet corrupted they would become so in time. I would spare their soul that fate.
Xenos can be useful servants and pawns were neccesary, though it is distasteful in the extreme to use them. If they benefit humanity through their existence they should be put to the torch
I would kill him, but I would do the deed quickly and not without regret.
They are fine and noble warriors, but just that: Warriors. They should stick to what they do best and not get ideas above their station (I'm talking to you, Arkhan...)
Th Emperor is nothing less than a God, but a distant and ethereal one. It is better to rely on your own skills than to trust that He in all his glory will dliver you. After all, He moves in mysterious ways...

Educate the Inquisitor on his stupidity at attempting the facade of control over this ancient foe. The daemonhost, if safely bound would be handed to my Ordo superiors for their disposal or research.
I know little of the Xenos as a whole. I do not hunt them, but would use them for humanities ends if possible. If not possible, then destroy them if it does not require wasting valuable resources.
The Inquisitor in question has done no more than the things in the question above. He may need retraining, but not death. If he was a friend, then this will further sway me towards leniency (and tolernce and betrayal, I know. But I have few inquisitor colleagues). As for speaking ill of the puritans, they are blinkered, knuckle headed bigots, I shall not punish a man for telling the truth.
They are unstoppable death machines, trained fully in the arts of war. A tool to be used with caution. For if you come with marines, your intentions are unlikely to be peaceful, or investigative. Defective gene-seed leaves them open to the temptation of chaos though.
An important head of the imperium, and the source of our faith. Used and abused by the administratum for their own political ends. Those so called puritans are guilty of some more blasphemous crimes than all the radicals put together. If only I had some proof..
Radical, judging from what is written above. But I will not tolerate the daemon or the detriment of humanity in any of these fields. But that doesn't mean that I work with the administatum and its corrupt seniors. The strong will survive to lead humanity forwards.

Learned Conclave of Inquisitors,
I deign only to answer this survey as an observer, since, as a Lord Temporal, it would be distasteful for me to let my own personal opinions cloud the matter in my mind.
Below, I list the Legally Acceptable answers, as determined by the Dictates Imperialis, since this is my area of expertise.
I am aware that the majority of Inquisitors do not accept the Rule of Imperial Law. So be it, but do not forget, it is only our Lawful society that prevents Chaos running rampant among us.
1. What are your views on the use of Daemonhosts, and if you met an Inquisitor who used one, what would you do to him?
Creation of Daemonhosts is Illegal under Section ARBITRIUM II (Blasphemy) Grade II (Possessing a symbol or any trappings of the Chaos Gods) of the book of Judgement, and is punishable by Death by Burning or Decapitation.
2. What are your relations with Xenos? Do you hunt them down and kill them, or ally with them when possible?
Relations with Xenotic Species are Illegal under Section ARBITRIUM XI (Heresy) Grade II (Treason) of the book of Judgement, and is punishable by Death through decapitation or firing squad, or enforced conscription into a penal platoon.
3. If you were called on to kill a Radical Inquisitor that was guilty of the Usage of Daemonhosts and Consorting with Foul Xenos and Speaking Ill of His Most Holy Emperor's Puritans, but the Inquisitor was also a long-time friend, what wuld you do?
Guilty, one count of Blasphemy, Grade II; Guilty, one count of Heresy, Grade II. The Sentence - Death, by Decapitation, Burning, or Firing Squad. The third listed incident, Cheeking an Agent of the Inquisition, is not punishable by any proscribed Statutory Punishment other than a swift, on-the-spot beating.
4. What are your views on the Adeptus Astartes?
The Adeptus Astartes are a supra-military body, not answerable to the Terran High Command or Lord Commander Militant. They operate at the Command of their Chapter Master and acknowledge only the Supremacy of the Emperor and their own father Primarch. They are a formidable fighting force, superhuman in capability and physiology, and are revered as demi-gods throughout the Imperium. Where the Imperial Guard is the Anvil, they are the tip of the Hammer.
5. Finally, what do you believe the Emperor to be?
The Emperor is the Ruler of Mankind, the Imperium's head of State, its Titular leader and the Summit of All Authority. He is also the head of the Imperial Church, the Father of the Imperial Creed, and the Divine Model of Mankind.

Hmm. binding a daemon to a host body means it requires none of its power to manifest a physical body, and allows it to use its power purely for combat. I approve. as to the inquisitor, I would trick him into sacrificing 500 million people in my name.
Alien races are.....useful, they have their purposes.
Dosen't really apply to me, does it?

Bielziel
Inquisitor Lord Erasmus Tyran, Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and unknowing puppet to the Eternal Watcher, Daemon Prince Bielziel
Tyran doesnt openly condone the use of Daemonhosts..but secretly makes use of the infernal beings due to Bielziel's puppeteering
Tyran detests the Xenos with a burning passion. As a child he watched his world burn in the fires of Xenos weaponry as his emergency transport took him off-world..narrowly surviving the alien blockade. He will speak little on the subject of his past. But suffice to say he sees all Xenos as a malignant force bent of destroying the Imperium. In "friendly" circumstances...such as Tau (bloody pansies..worse than eldar) his views are that they only wish to manipulate the Imperium in order to better weaken it. "The Enemy Without" - they should be crushed without mercy. This is also useful to Bielziel - how better to further Chaos' agendas by destroying possible allies?
It would depend on the will of Bielziel. If Bielziel wished the radical dead...then Tyran would not be able to stop himself from coming under the influence of the Daemon Prince he knows nothing about. Of course...Bielziel might want the radical alive...radicals are a useful thing to the corrupting influence of Chaos. Then again the Daemonhosts might be "buddies" of Bielziel..and so wish them free...it all depends.
Bielziel hates the Astartes with a burning passion. They are his enemy in the Long War...the ones who turned the fires of purgation on the Thousand Sons for warning them of the Warmaster's heresy! Tyran outwardly sees them as humanities bright saviours...but of course it is Bielziel that has ultimate control here...and Tyran feels Bielziel's deep hatred within him...without letting this fact become known of course...who wants to make enemies within the Inquisition?
Bielziel of course sees the Emperor as a corpse-god...one whom turned his back on the Thousand Sons...punishing them needlessly when their wishes where to save the Imperium from the Great Heresy. Tyran feels a loathing for the Emperor inticed on by the manipulations of the Eternal Watcher. He sees the Emperor as a needlessly cruel dictator who wishes only his own power...not a benevolent god whom all should love. He also blames the Emperor for doing nothing to save his world from the machinations of the Xenos. Of course...he isnt going around shouting about this belief..since despite his hatred for the Emperor...he is the only thing saving humanity from the tides of filth waiting to destroy the Imperium in which he is sworn to "protect". The Emperor is a necessary evil.

I would work with him but if he showed any signs of serious corruption i would kill him
I have yet to come across any xenos so i will not ofer an answer

The daemonhosts are as all demons are: foul abominations that must be destroyed. Any inquisitor using one of these monsters is a vile heretic who must be purged after close interrogration the trial by balance or ordeal of the blade are my favourite methods of data extraction
I have no relations with Xenos other than to exterminate them and rid the galaxy of their corrupting influence
A person engaging themselves in such abhorrent crimes would no longer be a friend of mine and would be purged with the fire of the Holy and Great Emperor's wrath, that i am priviliged to use.
These warriors best embodiy the noble sprit of our lord the Emperor
The only true God and the very essence of all that is good, just and right. The Emperor is the only salvation for man.

I do not like them, but I accept them. I would never use one myself, though I would not persecute any inquisitor or Dessemusian who did.
Depends on the species. I am a Friend of the Eldar, and I have allied with them many times in the past. The Orks are vermin, and the Tau are fools tinkering with things they do not understand.
I would not kill him, but help him escape and make it seem like I killed him...
Mighty warriors, invaluable to Man, but a force in need of greater monitoring when they show signs of corruption (such as the Relictors or indeed the Traitor Legions)
A man, extremely gifted in psychic powers and with an unique heritage, but still a man.
Not sure. I'd have to say Radical because of my beliefs versus the eldar and the Emperor...

Experienced though I consider myself in the lore of deamons I fear these things, who can know what passes behind their eyes.
I cannot allow the existance of such things to continue for the deamon is the greatest threat to humanity.
I have known men who have attempted to use the power of these constructs in the name of the Most Holy Emperor, none still retain them.
We are outnumbered and many threats close in on us, we cannot afford to destroy every one of the Xenos at a stroke, we must prioritise though I heartily wish we did not need to.
Still of all the Xenos there is one I wish to destroy above all others; that known as Tyranids. For they represent two threats in one, first the Xenos that we see, second the demonic mind which drives them.
His deamon must face my Psycannon, his Xenos must fall to the sword and he must be given an oppertunity to confess and repent before his death.
The Adeptus Astartes are the greatest defenders of the Imperium bar the Emperor himself. They are his hands, his weapons... in the same way as we might be his eyes and his ears. I count them as our strongest allies.
The divine Emperor sits above us all. It is less a matter of belief as a matter of fact.
Neither, for who is pure next to the divinity of the Emperor and who can truly go against his will without stepping from beneath the cloak of his protection.
(OOC: More like radical (though he doesn't see it that way) can you say "Ressurectionalist"?)
KingoftheGophers
Demonhosts are only to be used in the most desperate of conditions, when the amount of carnage a demonhost could create is less than it could prevent.
To the Inquisitor, I would examine his actions, judge if they were necessary, then administer the consequence, whether it be a bolter round, or acceptance.
Xenos are slaves, to be used towards the Emperor's intents. I will ally with Eldar, and I respect the bestiality of the Kroot, but unless they serve a good purpose, extermination is inevitable.
I would consider the charges against him on whether the Xenos and the Demonhosts were necessary, and also examine the insult against the puritans. If the Inquisitor was not acceptable, I would be glad to administer his punishment personally.
They are tools, nothing more, nothing less, but when a knife cuts it's master, the blade must be reforged.
A necessity, and with powers of a god, we should respect him as such.
prof_nexus
In desperate circumstances, an Inquisitor must turn to what resources he has. Be careful that the cost of such a tool does not outweigh its benefits.
Again, Xenos should not be overlooked as a potential tool, but they should be disposed of promptly if they do not serve a purpose.
If his transgressions served the greater good, I may not be so quick to issue sentence upon his soul...
They can be loyal allies when correctly led. They can also be meddling fools.
The salvation of mankind. His soul moves among us, guiding our actions. One day, He may be freed from his gilded corpse and be reborn.
The ends justify the means. If that makes me a radical, then so be it.

Quite right, Brother Mefisto, I am disgusted with the preconceptions many seem to hold about those who they would label 'radical'. To use a daemonhost or daemon sword is not to be a 'daemon lover', it is to be a daemon user. To associate with races outside mankind in our holy work is not to be a 'Xenos hugger', it is to be something other than a xenophobe. The very use of the phrases 'puritan' and 'radical' only serve to divide our organisation and cause needless infighting.
There are philopsophies other than Xanthite which are labelled radical, and therefore treated as equally flawed in the eyes of some. But what I must insist here is that to be a Xanthite is not to be a heretic! It is not to consort with Chaos and make dark pacts with daemons! It is merely to believe that Chaos can be turned against itself, and many Xanthites know Chaos more than their less 'radical' fellows, and hate it with equal zeal nevertheless.
But we should never kill a xenos or a heretic out of hate. We are tools, we are here to do the work of the Emperor. We rise above hatred, and the truly great Inquisitors kill not for hate, but because it is their duty. To divide such men into 'puritans' and 'radicals', is to glorify some and revile others when in truth, all are heroes of the Imperium. Those who cultivate needless hate and use it as an excuse are not doing their duty. They are destroying the enemies of the Emperor not for His sake, but for their own petty emotions.
Think on this, brothers. Rise above hate, and rise above these misguiding labels. There are no 'puritans' and 'radicals' in the Inquisition, there are merely Inquisitors. Inquisitors who are here to do their duty, a duty that does not include infighting and persecuting their brethren.

The Daemon can never be trusted, nor those who fall prey to it's treachery and employ it's evil. I would destroy the host with all speed and give the Inquisitor one last chance to redeem him or her self
This is a complicated question, as each race is different. I do not trust any of them, but the lofty Eldar seem to posess a greater hatred of chaos, particularly the god of pleasure and pain, than I do.
tell him to destroy the daemonhost. the daemon cannot be trusted. I'm not too fond of puritans, but I'm guessign the author of this test is by how the question is worded.
They are not truly human, and many are corrupt in gene and mind, though not always in a harmful way. they are a useful tool that must also be closely watched.
The savior of mankind. though misunderstood, his basic premise of man's domination of the stars remains at the heart of the imperium. If only we could raise him from the golden throne, he could set the imperium back to it's former glory.
Narhekk
I would confiscate the daemonhost in question but I personally (And so does my Order) use daemon hosts as we are all Xanthites.
All Xenos are for extermination. They have no use except for the crafting of weaponry.
I would request the job is given to another Inquisitor as while I believe daemon hosts are an acceptable thing the Xenos are abominations.
Useful tools even if an annoyance at times.

All the spawn of chaos are tainted and should be destroyed with the fire and zeal of a pius mind.
The End Justifies the Means. Though continued use of such foul abominations suggests they may be treading the first few steps down the road to Damnation.
There is no question of Mankinds divine right to rule the galaxy. Those Xenos breeds which do not consort with the forces of chaos should be intimately studied before a thorough extermination is carried out.
No one can remain who questions Mankinds right to rule. As for those depraved Xenos breeds which consort with chaos, may they burn in the fire of the Emperors might.
All Inquisitors have the right to speak ill of all but the Emperor. It is our duty to charge our brothers with the crimes they have commited. The Emperor will reveal the truth.
Continued useage of Daemonhosts and denighing the truth of Mankinds right to rule are both crimes punishable with excruciation followed by the cleansing fire of the Imperial Guard.
They are a fine example of Mankinds right to rule the galaxy. These noble warriors should only be used when normal men fail to cleanse the galaxy of the foulest of foes.
The Emperor is the savior of Mankind
He is our guiding light
An example to us all
The Emperor is our salvation
He is just and wise
The glue that bind mankind.
Him on earth is an immortal figurehead Whose vision and strength allows the varied populous of the Imperium of Man to flourish and continue in the struggle through the dark days.
