Alternative Flamer Rules
Flamers. Don't ya just love'em?
Got an arco-flagellent charging towards you?
Just flame 'em.
A Space Marine just killed your buddies?
Just flame 'im.

But do you know the best thing aboutflamers? The fact that they are protected by the Ultra-Protecto Field!!! No matter how often you shoot at the weilder of the Flamer, the tank never gets hit. Until now...

This new rule represents the fact that while Flamers are hideously nasty weapons, and it sucks when they blow up. Exterminators are exempt from these rules.

If you wish to use these rules, the following changes are made...

Instead of hitting with BS/4 you hit on BS/3

Every target of a Flamer, regardless of whether they were hit or not must make a Nv test to avoid pinning with a -20 modifier.

Anyone who shoots at a model carrying a flamer who gets a placed shot and hits the model in the location with the flamer may opt to hit the flamer instead of modifying the hit location. If he hits the flamer roll a D10.

1-2 Kadabooom! The shot punctures the Flamers fuel tank and explodes. Count this as a Molitov cocktail (see the rules from the WD wth the Fanatic Mutant) that is centered on the model. In addition D3 random locations on the model are set alight. The Flamer is unsurprisingly, destroyed.

3-6 Boom! The shot punctures the fuel tank and coats the model carrying it in burning fuel. The flamer is destroyed and D3 random locations on the model carrying it is set on fire.

7-9 Leakage. The Flamer is punctured by the shot and begins to slightly leak. Everytime the Flamer is fired from now on roll again on this chart. Deduct 1 from the roll for each successive attempt.

10 Superficial Damage. The damage done to the weapon is purely superficial. There is no additional effect.

NOTE: For the result Kadaboom! and Boom! the damage taken by the burning fuel is equivelent to the type of flamer used.
