High Inquisitor Julianus Kreider

Born on the agricultural outpost of Farpoint Zero on the gammaalpha-class planet Dante's Landing (Segmentum Obscursus, in vicinity to Port Cadia), young Julian Kreider was the firstborn son of the outpost commander. The inhabitants of the colony noticed something strange inside him and especially in his younger sister Julie. She was an extremely beautiful girl but avoided and disliked by most of the colonists, though Julian is known to have had a very close friendship to his sister.

Julian however was admired and seen as a great leader and a worthy successor to his father. It turned out that he was a latent but powerful psyker and was therefore trained by the local Adeptus.

At the age of 16 Dante's Landing was invaded by a Traitor Marine force of the Iron Warriors legion. Farpoint Zero was completely destroyed during the first assault.

In that assault Julian's parents were killed and he took over the command of the last defenders. In a desperate last stand the attacking Iron Warriors could be thrown back after Julian had killed their leader with a powerful psychic attack, born from all his fury and hatred. The Iron Warrior stumbled backwards, his thorax ripped apart by the spark of pure psychic energy, and fell. The other Traitor Marines, surprised and unbelieving that a small boy had killed their leader, retreated and left the village behind them.

Few days after the assault the remains of Farpoint Zero were visited by an inquisitorial investigation squad under Inquisitor Tyrus and Captain Lysander of the Grey Knights. They found Julianus and Julie in the remains of the village.
Lysander found them inside the burned-out main building and realised something he never would have believed before: A psyker with a sobbing pariah in his arms. Usually people avoid pariahs as far as possible and psykers are scared to death by their appearance due to the pariah's anti-psy aura. Absolutely impossible – usually.

After a short interrogation about the raid Lysander told Julie about her 'gift'. Somehow she had always made the rest of her world responsible for her trouble, but now she realised it was her own nature. Though her world broke in two in that moment, Lysander managed to get her join the Culexus temple.

Julian, who never wanted to leave his sister was finally accepted by Inquisitor Tyrus as Inquisitor Aspirant and left with him to Io. For some years their ways divided.

Inquisitor Aspirant Kreider passed the initiation tests at the Inquisitorial Academy of Io par excellence and then focused on the topics of Xenoarchaeology (Lecturer Inquisitor Jones) and Demonology (Lecturer Inquisitor Heldane). He turned out to be a powerful psyker. After several years of intensive study of the secrets of the universe and excessive combat training, Inquisitor Aspirant Kreider was elected Acolyte Inquisitor to Inquisitor Tyrus.

Inquisitor Tyrus adopted Kreider as his student and aide.
In 7 years of investigations and combats Acolyte Inquisitor Kreider became more than a mere fellow warrior to Inquisitor Tyrus. Tyrus once called him 'companion' and indeed appreciated his blade master skills, his clear head and soft wit.

In 2673978.M.41 Julian Kreider was finally elected Inquisitor, with all rights and debts of this position. He adopted the name Julianus and was equipped with a carapace body armour bearing the Inquisitorial seal on its breastplate as well as a standard MIU-adapter. Julianus was given a richly decorated hybrid power sword by his former mentor and friend Inquisitor Heldane, who had taught him the mighty psyker power 'The Truth'.

Inquisitor Julianus became a member of the Ordo Malleus, but kept his interests for Xenoarchaeology.

His true friend Marcus Luthor, the Academy's preacher during Julianus' time as Aspirant Inquisitor, was elected Missionary and joined Julianus in his cause to rid the galaxy of the triumvirate of evil: Alien, Heretic and Demon.
He became the first permanent member of his warband.

In 981.M.41 during an investigation on Cadia he met Julie again. She was now a full member of the Culexus temple and assigned personal aide to Inquisitor Julianus. Her Psyker-Custodes witnessed a strange nullification of both auras: Julie seemed as if she was no Pariah and Julianus seemed as a non-psyker. Uncommon. Totally uncommon.

The investigation was completed successfully. Julie eliminated 7 rogue psykers while Julianus 'took care' of the legate who protected them. Julie gave her brother the master-crafted bolt pistol of her Custodes as a present to replace his old naval pistol which was destroyed in the fighting. She engraved a small thorny rose in the grip of the gun, which gave Julianus his glossia nickname: 'Rosethorn'. “To make it a bit more personal”.

Inquisitor Julianus and Agent Julie have fought side by side in several missions since then and try to see each other as often as possible.

In 982.M.41 Julianus saved a Tech Mage's life during a Necron raid on Arcturus. Impressed by Julianus' performance he gave him a little present: Marcus 6241, a Praetorian Servitor with two implanted heavy Bolters. (Julianus wanted him to join his retinue, but the Mechanicus priest gave him that big shooty thing instead…)

During that raid Julianus took down several Necron Warriors and hit one directly in its teleportation unit. This one could not dematerialise when the others beamed away and was captured in the following.
This was the first Necron warrior captured 'alive'. It was moved to the Inquisitorial main base on Io and modified for sanctioned enlistment. The Necron 'One' serves by turns in Inquisitor Julianus' and Inquisitor Jones' warband.
Julianus' lucky shot enabled imperial snipers to take down and capture several other Necrons: 4 warriors, 2 Immortals and one lord.

In the same year Julianus excommunicated the arch bishop of Lastrati for heretic preachings and for secretly supporting a chaos cult. During heavy firefights inside the bishop's palace Julianus activated 4 Arcos from the bishop's arsenals and made them fight on his side with the access code of his rosette.

The only surviving Arco flagellant, Loganus 7841, was repaired and joined Julianus' warband.

Julianus brave service to the Imperium (especially the capture of the Necron warrior and the purging of the chaos cult on Lastrati) was appreciated by his assignment to Great Inquisitor 1745982.M.41.
This assignment and Julianus' sympathy for the Amalathian movement made Inquisitor Tyrus break with him.
On several occasions later Julianus and Tyrus had serious verbal pitfights and in 984 they even had things get 'close and personal' inside Julianus' library. Julianus book about Amalathians was damaged.

985.M.41 great Inquisitor Julianus investigated the reappearance of the free trader ship 'Regina Caelorum' from an interstellar nebula in the Aranis sector. A strange energetic lifeform had taken over control of all computers and machines of the Starship and created cyborgs with the mortal remains of crew and a navy security team. The soldiers from the security team had given their lives to turn off the main reactor in order to deactivate the computers.

Julianus and his retinue reactivated the generator, not knowing about the electric lifeform onboard, and soon found themselves in serious trouble. They could get out alive, but lost Marcus 6241 and three other members of the warband.
Julianus destroyed the Regina Caelorum and thus saved the whole sector from an incursion of mindless cyborgs-zombies.

The tech priest, whose life Julianus saved on Arcturus, built a successor model to Marcus 6241. Marcus 6242 however had a total system breakdown and could not be used as a battle servitor. He was rebuilt to a cleaning servitor and is used on St. Jowens Dock for cleaning Marauder interceptors from stardust.

He is the only cleaning servitor with a target computer.
Gabriel Green, Catachan Sergeant and brother-in-arms to Julianus, who was severely injured during an assault, was upgraded to a Praetorian Servitor and called Marcus 6243. He now serves in Julianus' retinue again. Two implanted assault cannons make him a great help for the Inquisitor when problems are a bit more troublesome than expected…

In the same year he was assigned High Inquisitor for this achievement (others say: it was for political intrigue and the sudden disappearance of a group of (Horusian) Malleus Inquisitors).
The Lord Inquisitor saw Julianus as a perfect heir to his throne, but Julianus refused. His job was to save mankind out there in the darkness between the stars.
The Lord Inquisitor still tries to persuade him.

In 988.M.41 the Tyranid Hivefleet 'Leviathan' approached Aranis in the Segmentum Solar. The Imperial Navy assembled near Aranis III, a technologically high developed world.
Intense inquisitorial surveillance was ordered onto the world to guarantee loyalty during the Tyranid incursion.

Inquisitor Julianus was requested (others say: requested himself) for an investigation of the abduction of the planetary governor's daughter and a mysterious new cult arising.
He assembled his retinue, recruited Inquisitor Acolyte Jenova from the academy and some good ol' friends from his time on the academy and finally started his journey to Aranis III…
