In the Finnish myth the diving duck lays the eggs on the lap of the
daughter of the god of the sea who is sleeping on the surface.
Awaking from her slumber the eggs break and from their shell is the heavens, stars and earth created.The hero, Väinämöinen , enters the primaeval waters and then creates the cosmos from the broken pieces of an duck's egg.
