B.R. standard 4, 80104 HISTORICAL NOTES.
1955 (MAR 31) 80104 was built at Brighton Works, one of fourteen engines of lot number 6167. 80104 left the works on on 31 March 1955.
1955 (APR) Allocated to Plaistow locomotive shed.
1956 (SEP) Shopped at Stratford Works.
1958 (MAY) Heavy overhaul at Darlington Works.
1959 moved to Tilbury shed.
1962 (JUN 17) Placed in storage due to electrification on LTS routes.
1962 (JUL 15) Transferred to Western Region.
1962 (JUL 15) Allocated to Old Oak Common.
1962 (NOV) Moved to Croes Newydd.
1962 (DEC 8) Heavy general repair at Crewe Works.
1963 (MAR) Moved to Machynlleth and sub-shed at Aberystwyth.
1964 (JAN 1) Absorbed into London Midland Region stock.
1965 (JUL 24) Withdrawn from Machynlleth.
1965 Stored awaiting scrapping.
1966 (JAN) Moved to Barry scrapyard.
1984 (SEP) Moved from Barry scrapyard to Swanage.
1984 (OCT) Stored in headshunt at Swanage Station.
1988 (JAN) Purchased by supporters group who formed "80104 Limited"
1989 Moved to Swindon Works site.
1991 (JAN) Moved to Avon Valley Railway near Bristol.
1994 (NOV) Purchased by Southern Locomotives Ltd.
1995 (AUG-OCT) Parts returned to Swanage Railway.
1996 Rebuilding and restoration at Herston Works began, using boiler, tanks and cab from 80078.
1997 (MAY 7) Hauled train in commemoration of the "Dorset Coast Express".
