This is a photo of Hawkes Bay that I took from Bluff Hill lookout. Bluff Hill is the prominent limestone hill visible from most of Napier. It contains some of the oldest properties in Napier, some having survived the 1931 earthquake which destroyed most of Napier. In the foreground to the right you can see the port of Napier. We live almost smack bang in the middle of the picture, on the beach over the bay. It may take a while to load up, but this photo makes very nice wallpaper - right click and select "Set as Wallpaper" option. |

| This is an example of some of the awesome scenery we have to put up with... Te Amata peak is about 40mins West of Napier, just outside of Hastings, Napier's nearest neighbour. Hastings is a similar size to Napier but doesn't benefit from the same proximity to the Pacific Ocean, and the Art Deco influence is not quite as obvious. Although this photo has obviously been taken from some height, little effort was expended to reach this vantage point - a road leads all the way to the top! | |||||||
