Keith Anthoni (1952 - 1991)

Gay porn star, model, and singer, born Thomas Plaski in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, though his publicity claimed he was a native of Ragusa, Sicily. He legally changed his name to Thom Amorelli when he was eighteen and sometimes worked under the name Mike Cole. It was also at eighteen that he married, lost his virginity, and subsequently lost his wife when she died a few months after the wedding. Shortly afterwards he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor, and appeared in two television commercials for Pepsi.

In 1976, he appeared in his first gay film, Catching Up, for Hand In Hand Films. As a porn star, Keith developed a considerable following, heightened by a memorable performance in El Paso Wrecking Company (co-starring Jack Wrangler) and a talent for auto-fellatio which he demonstrated at personal appearances at gay clubs, theaters, and bathhouses. His other films included All Tied Up, Flesh & Fantasy, Gray Hanky Left, In Heat, In the Name of Leather, The Night Before, Pier Groups, Red Hanky Left, Right Number, So Many Men So Little Time, Subway, Tough Guys, Upperclassmen, Wet Sports, and White Hanky Left. In the late seventies he began indulging in cocaine and by the eighties was a heavy addict. Whether his drug use or the unprotected sex he practiced on and off-camera contributed to his contraction of AIDS is uncertain. He died of AIDS complications at his mother's home in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
