AEROSKOBING on Aero Island , Denmark

AEROSKOBING

Placed in the middle of the north coast of the island is Aeroskobing. The street plan, which dates back to the middle ages, has a preservation order, and the houses can be traced back to the 17th century. You cannot help being totally enchanted by this idyllic town with its cobbled stones, hollyhocks and beautiful doors and windows, which all helps to give an impression of the atmosphere of times gone by. During the summer the town, the shops the cafes and the restaurants are full of life. You can, however, choose to enjoy a peaceful stroll and become absorbed in the fabulous architecture which is evident all over the town. There is a good reason for Aeroskobing to be called "The fairytale Town". The museums exhibits the towns past as a market town with shipping and trade being a large part of the employment, backed by the agricultural produce from the farmland. Aeroskobing's church is near the market square. Here you will find the old town pump as well. It supplied Aeroskobing with water right up till 1952, and is still in working order.
