Summer 03

We formed at the end of may after maxi and gordon met through playing together in a band called smiling politely, which was an indie band. A coincidental bump into one another in the pub later and the two began talking about their music tastes and ideas, Gordons long term playing partner Mike was asked to come for a jam and the band decided to form. After just nine hours of playing together, the band managed to pen 5 tracks which were written in this time. The band took these songs and demoed them in Capt Toms, the result was "9 hours on...".The band got their first gig at drummonds on the 20th June 2003, where they played in a battle of the band with tigerfinn. The gig was hailed as a success (for a first gig) and the band then played at Lava on the 20th July (the day when maxi came back from france, and the band hadnt played since drummonds) with Mink Lungs, Le Neon and Guile. The gig was to all of 4 people, but still valuable experience. Two new songs were written (racious set closer "hereinafter" and "being fodder") in anticipation of further gigs with Eric Euan (Dr Drakes) and Macrocosmica (Dr Drakes).
