JIMMY "ORION" ELLIS
The following is a list of the known official 45rpm single record releases by Jimmy Ellis/Orion/Ellis James/Steven Silver. All titles listed are American or Canadian (indicated as such) releases but in many cases records have been issued outside the USA/Canada and details of these releases can be found in the "Foreign" section elsewhere on this site.
Further info on these or any recordings not included would be very welcome.

Titles are listed in chronological order according to year of release.

1972 - 1973 SUN RECORDS
SUN 1129  BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY/THAT'S ALL RIGHT
Released 1972
Released without artist credit
NOTE: This release created a great deal of controversy as many listeners were under the impression that the voice actually belonged to Elvis Presley and the tracks were unreleased studio recordings from Elvis' time at Sun Records. It would seem that original Canadian releases of this disc were credited on the label as sung by "?".

SUN SI-1179 THAT OLD TIME FEELING/MORNING, NOON AND NIGHT
Released 1982
Credited to Orion
NOTE: This single was rumoured to have been released, possibly as a DJ promo but no real evidence surfaced to verify this. Other sources stated that the coupling was actually OLD TIME FEELING/SOME YOU WIN, SOME YOU LOSE and gave a catalogue number of SUN SI-1178. Further Information surfacing in November 2001 indicated that SUN SI-1179 featured the Orion coupling THAT OLD TIME FEELING/I WANT TO BE IN PICTURES. The latter track being a recording previously unknown to Orion collectors.  There was also speculation that promo singles featuring this coupling may have been sent out to radio stations at some time.

Recent evidence unearthed by Richard St. Pierre has now discredited the above info re Sun SI-1178/1179 and it is now known that these releases have no Orion/Ellis connection.
SUN 1178 THAT OLD TIME FEELING is a 45rpm single by Rex Gosdin
SUN 1179 is a 45 by Jim Owen, the A side being a track titled BOGALUSA.
