On the sign of the batallion you see two adders. Because the batallion was staioned at the Veluwe, a beautiful natural part in the heart of the East part of The Netherlands, famous because of its nature.
It was easy to choose an animal which was richly found in its habitat, and could be found in the characteristics of the recce batallion: the adder.
This little snake with its good camouflage, ability to swim and never ever to let its enemy get too close has the finest compatibility as the recce men have.
If forced to battle, it will strike quick and deadly to retreat as soon as possible.

The batallions sign:

the colours:
Silver:
The Cavalry is known for the rich sadle, reighns and uniformparts. Mostly made of silver.
Black:
The color of the beret is black
Blue:
The recce colour of the Dutch Cavalry
Yellow:
International recce colour
The 104 Sign
In accordance with the adder, the following became the honourcall:

KOM MIJ NIET TE NA
(Dont come too close)
