5 loosen the barrel screw
,2.5 turns thento remove it pull slide back 1/2" and lift barrel off the
frame tilting muzzle downward and off.
6 now lift the slide right
off the frame.
7 for further cleaning
they suggest sending it in to the factory but i just remove the grips one
at a time the right side holds the mag release flat spring, the left side
the slide stop + spring.
etc. what i do is to just
get a can of carb cleaner go out side and with the skinny tube on the nozzle
spray the crap out of it inside and out.be careful tho not to lose the
flat mag release spring or the left side slide stop and spring as well.never
leave the grips on to get soaked in the stuff.if unsure on the parts keep
em in place with a heavy elastic band or a tye wrap.
REASSEMBLY
7 make sure the buffer
is in place on the recoil post, the circular projection faces to the rear
to match its recess in the post.the hole ion the buffer should be on top.
8 put the slide back on
9 put the pointed end of
the rod thru the hole on the buffer and in the hole on the recoil post
10 insert the recoil guide
back slightly pushing the spring 1/8" or so until the recoil guide can
be pushed down into the recoil guide slot in the slide and make sure the
2 beveled edges are pointed upwards.
11 pull slide back 1/2"
and tip the barrel tang into its slot, pivot the barrel up and in and the
rear base downwardsuntil the sight base is in alignment with slide, allow
the side forward.put in sight base and tighten the mounting screws remembering
that the washers go in the same way they came out and NEVER OVERTIGHTEN
THEM.over tightening will cause the pistol to malfunction, crack the base, the
post !!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAGAZINE CLEANING
SHOULD BE DONE EVERY 500
TO 1000 ROUNDS!
just use the carb cleaner
and work the follower down and up with its button allowing the filth to
drain out with the lips down, repeat this 3 times to make sure its clean.
THE BORE.
use a muzzle bore guide
when cleaning to protect the lands and grooves from wear!
for heavy leading just
run a well soaked nitro patch in the bore and let it sit 20 minutes and
scub clean, repeat if necessary.i use a stainless tornado style brush just
so the copper doesnt adhere to the bore or a heavy nylon brush, the stainless
ones work well , the tornado ones are loops wrapped and twisted unlike
the loose strand style copper ones.
oil well when storing and
never shoot thru an oily bore!!!!!,always clean it out before shooting.
