It was a beautiful day in Lavonia, Georgia on May 13, 2000. Here are some photos of the people and the vintage race cars that helped make it a great day of bench racing...

LIVING LEGENDS OF DIRT 2000

Good looking Chevelle...(actually a ChevyII...).

'55 Chevy...

The Harold Roach owned...ex-Ralph Moody driven...Ford coupe.

Harold Roach's Ford "Vicky"...what a good looking "skeeter".

Mike Bell...the man behind the "Georgia Auto Racing Hall of Fame". Mike's knowledge of the souths racing history is widely known.

One of the two "open wheel sprinters" on hand. This one had Bobby Allison's name on the side of it.

Joe Evans "old Chevy"...it's a winner everywhere it goes.

A good looking Vega stock car. A good example of the type of cars running in the south in the 1970's.

Jerry Vaughns "skeeter"...what a great looking sedan this is. Mike Bell tells us that this "skeeter" was actually built in 1965 by Shorty Vincent (deseased) and Curt Shaw (in Mike's words..."missing") and won something like 6 races in a row including a 100 lapper on the July 4th weekend of 1965. It was driven by Charlie Mincey...who was at the Lavonia get together.

One of the people responsible for the National Vintage Racing Assoc. success is Roy Parker. Here's Roy's #82 on display.
