Objectives & Disclaimer

This Web-site makes possible for all to view how the effort to protect The Wilfrid Bog is proceeding. It will also disclose how all levels of government working together or not, determines the final outcome and reveals how the environmental laws set forth in Canada, are used to protect these environmental sensitive habitats and whether these laws are adequate or not.

It is obvious that The Task Force For The Preservation Of The Wilfrid Bog is extremely unhappy over the landowners decision to disregard the protections on this property. This Web-site, however, is not an attempt to harm the viable business of the peat extractor. Pefferlaw Peat Products employees many persons within our community and is respected by many. It is unfortunate that peat moss fails to be a sustainable or renewable resource and that Pefferlaw Peat Products (who has depleted the source of peat within the section that has been mined for 45+ years) is forced to find an alternative source. The Task Force holds no animosities against the landowner.

We are simply requesting that the environmental policies, laws and regulations applying to this property, be enforced.
