Marriage of Katherine Offermann and John Braun
Roger Kaestner found a wedding announcement in the Waterloo Republican reporting on the marriage of Katie Offermann and John Braun on July 31, 1895:
"Miss Katie Offermann of Pinckneyville, and Mr. John Braun, formerly of the Braun Shoe Co., were married in St. Louis Tuesday and left in the evening for a wedding trip up the river. St. Louis will be their future home where Mr. Braun is engaged in business."
Elsie Offermann reported that Kate Offermann left home when she was still quite young, which may explain why she was living in Pinckneyville at the time of her marriage. Based on the information in the Civil War Pension records, it is possible that Kate may have lived in Pinckneyville with her uncle, Peter Offermann. Little is known about her husband and her children, the Braun family, at this point in time, but it is believed that she had a number of children, and that she lived her entire life in the St. Louis area and probably has descendants living there today.
Does anyone have any more information on the Katherine Offermann Braun family?
