I don't know the exact meaning of his name, but I know it has to do with being optimistic, amiable, and adventurous (Not to mention the fact that he acts very much like Zidane of Final Fantasy 9 =^.^=).
Zidane is an all black male wolf with hazel eyes that change color (hazel eyes do change colors, y'know. I happen to have hazel eyes :Þ). His fur, like his father's, shines in strange hues when exposed to light, shinning silver and gold. He is of average size for a young male wolf with a lean body and thick fur. Like his father, he is also very handsome.
Optimistic, cheerful, and often just plain goofy, Zidane is the type of wolf that loves to meet and befriend others. However, since he was born to a prominant Darkwolf family, others often have trouble trusting him, even though he possesses no Darkwolf qualities.
Zidane is easily hurt and offended by those who refuse to see him for who he is and instead see him for who his family is. Zidane does not like to be compared to the Darkwolves that spawned him, and the last thing he wants is to be hated or not trusted. The thing he wants is to many the simplest of all things: Love and friendship.
If there is one thing Zidane has inherited from his family, it is his tendancy to do all he can to impress and woo females (Although his attempts are a bit more clumsy and lighthearted due to inexperience). He also loves pups. He is, after all, barely a juvinile, for he only recently exited puppyhood.
Zidane s thouroghly disgusted by his family, but at the same time fearful of them especially his brother, Hakan. And, even though the actions of his family are far from his fault, he still feels guilty for having been born to them. His dislike of Darkwolves and need to be recognized as an individual are all very important to him. It is very rare to see Zidane in an unpleasant mood, but when others assume that just because he was born to an evil family he is evil as well, it impacts him greatly. He also has a bit of a temper, but his temper rarely ever shows, and when it does, it is never over something trivial or small.
Zidane is also very protective towards those around them--Even if he doesn't like them. He feels the need to protect others, not only to show that he is not bad, but because he cares for them. He never holds grudges against anyone for very long, and is very forgiving and open with how he feels. It's very hard for him to hold back his opinions and feelings, even if it's not the best time to express them...
Since Zidane has never before been in anything more than puppyhood "play fights", he is weak in combat. Besides, Zidane does not even like to think of hurting others because he is afraid that if he does, it would place him on the same level as the Darkwolves.
At Swift Wolves, Zidane is single. At Spirits of the Earth, he is mated to Starfire.
His parents are Juggernaut (father) and Golden Blizzard (mother) and he has seven siblings: Hakan, Taru, Saga, Kapugen, Silver, Nara, and Poppy. His grandmother is Nova, who was killed in battle when battling Darkfate.
Zidane was born to Juggernaut and Golden Blizzard, one of eight pups. As a juvinile, he left his pack to go look for his sisters but ended up stumbling across a Lightwolf pack. He saw this accident as an opportunity to escape from his own pack, and thus asked to join.
Even before he knew the meaning and difference between Light and Dark, he did not like life in the pack. He also had no interest in battle, and when his father and older brother, Hakan, saw this, they tried to convince him that Darkness was the only way and get him to enjoy battle. However, their efforts were fruitless, and Zidane began to feel more and more uncomfortable around them, especially since Hakan was not even trying to hide his resentment toward him.
But when Zidane heard a midnight conversation between Hakan and Juggernaut where Hakan was trying to convince Juggernaut to kill him, that was when Zidane began to look for every opportunity available to get away from his pack, if only for a few minutes. Soon, his opportunity came.
His nerves and dreams of a better life among Lightwolves are now being tested as being accepted, trusted, and even liked proves more difficult than he could have ever imagined...
