Gear Review and Tech Talk

Each month we will bring to you a review of the latest Equipment in the Music Business. Coming next month a review of E-Bay and Used Guitars!

Ok, Ok, so I neglect this section, but here goes nothing.
So You want to record your music? Well, I just tried, and bought a neat little toy just for recording me, myself and I, The Boss BR-8
This is not your run of the mill little recording device. Right out of the box any idiot, and that includes me, can begin to record their covers or originals.
The unit is chocked full of special effects for the guitar, vocals, drums and a lot of little fine tuning that I am still yet to discover.
It offers quite an array of record out features, midi, spidF, or RCA phone jacks to your favorite recording medium. This is of course after you have mastered the sound that you have laid down on the handy Zip Disc format that the unit offers.
The unit has 8 tracks of fun and has 64 virtual tracks that you can bounce around and keep adding and tweaking until the cows come home.
This is so far advanced over the old analog tape machines. I have tried them and could never get the smooth sound that I can with the BR8. Simply put, It is one of the most fun experiences that I have tried.
So all of you would be artists that are aspiring to record, Give one a try. The prices are coming down on the unit all the time.
I bought mine used off of E-bay and am very happy both with the price and the performance.
So try a Boss BR-8 and have yourself one band of a time.
