Loss of Intentions

By Laz

NOTE: This story revolves around what would currently be going on if Buffy were to have died. This would have been durring a War [Vampire War -Lead By Angelus, Spike, Drusilla, and Darla] - Many were murdered, just a year before this story's present time.

There have always been times, in everyone's lives where they regret or taste pain. There is always a moment when you linger on to a thought - and break down inside knowing that there could have been an alternate ending. There have been times like that in my life.A time where i sat and thought life was at it's peak, but never once realised the world's flaws.I took life and it's many values for granted. I never even had the chance to say goodbye.

I could remember everything, from the moment we all met, and all of those incredible instances we experienced along the way.And now is when I treasure them. I regret every moment we fought. Every moment we felt tyranny or anger towards one anothers actions. regret it all. I guess you could say I regret too often now.

We thought we had the world under control, until it happened. HE was weak, always had been. And truthfully I never trusted him, he caused us, and especially HER too much pain. He was our demise. Her weakness.

It would all lead into the demise of day, and the ressurection of darkness. Split our hearts, make our friendships blow out like an old candle.

We aren't that happy anymore, nor will we until we take him down. Make him feel the ongoing pain, we've dealt with for some time now. Make hims cry every night, fearing your life. Fearing to love again...

I once walked around My good Intentions. But then I realised there's none.

It was unwelcoming down there, a dark and musty feel burrowed itself in the corridors and many covens that seeked it's heir. Beyond Sunnydale's main sewerage, they managed to somewhat colonise. But as savages, they were forced to sleep in the odoress sewer canals, and share food with the rodents inhabiting the disgusting abodes.

He walked past many of these very 'rooms' or 'hellholes', he didn't choose the name, due to his followers. Hell wasn't a word permitied in this "no man's land" per say. He was a strong man, with weight upon his shoulders. He was once the sense of true joy around here, often bringing laughter amongst the survivors and their children, but Angelus made him otherwise. But Alexander Harris had a weakness. Children. Throughout these harsh times, he never ceased to care for them. He walked past them, waving happily, then entering his quarters. It was a large work place where he, Willow, and Giles would most often muster up plans, talk, and conjure up any sense of humanity amongst one another.

He saw Willow at one end, playing unhappily with her floating pencil.

"Will, You sure are becoming the mistress of Floating Pencils now aren't ya? Can you float over a Rice Krispie Treat or something. And hold the side of rat.."

There was such a bitter sweet irony to it all, Xander could sense the friction - The pain surfacing and it dwelled inside him like an open wound. It made him slowly remember the anger. The hate that led him to this rechid hell he forcefully called home.

Dear Diary,

It was going to one of those days. I could sense it in the air. It was going to be one of those life altering, life shattering nights and I honestly believe there isn't anything I can do about it.

I had just spent a nice evening with Will, Tara and and Anya. It was different, but nice... but I got this strange feeling that.. when we said good-bye.. it was nothing. I did speak with Riley briefly tonight.. it's hard to tell if things will be the same between us or not... I hardly doubt it. Well.. it's time to do my so-called duty.. wish me luck.

- Buffy

------------------>

Buffy jumped into the air, kicking the vampire to the ground, then landing on top of him, staking him. "Dusted." She muttered as she got up, she looked over at Riley who was stakign another vampire.

"Riley!" She screamed as a vampire came up behind Riley and snapped his neck.

Buffy took deep breaths, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked around the once beautiful town of Sunnydale. It was now all on fire, vampires and demons everywhere, killing innocent people and there was nothing Buffy could do to stop it.

Buffy looked up, seeing Angel with Darla... Buffy heart shattered into millions of pieces as Angel wasn't Angel anymore.

"Xander!!" A scream was heard in the distance as she turned, seeing Anya being attacked by a demon and Xander running for her - but it was too late.

Buffy lunged towards another vampire, who was heading for Dawn. "Touch my sister again and I'll......" She staked the vampire in the heart, dusting him. "Do that. Get out of here Dawn!" Buffy yelled at Dawn.

Dawn looked at Buffy, then turned, running away but was grab by Darla.

Darla? Buffy turned, looking at Darla as she held Dawn by the throat.

"Such a pretty face. It's a shame it has to go to waste." Darla murmured softly, her eyes meeting Buffy's. "Say goodbye, love." She smiled wickedly as she bit Dawn, drinking the life out of her, then tossed her lifeless body to the side.

Angelus walked up through the smoke from all the fires behind Darla, "Wonderful job, my lover." He said to Darla, as he looked at Buffy. "Your mother suffered the same fate as Dawn, she was quite tasty." He licked his lips and then lunged at Buffy, grabbing her by the throat.

"I'm sorry, my love that it had to come to this." Angel told her, as he squeezed her neck, she was gasping for air.

Darla smiled delightedly as she watched her lover, kill the Slayer.

Once the life was out of Buffy, Angelus tossed her to the ground with the rest of the dead bodies.

Soon, Angelus and Darla disappeared, leaving death behind them.

'It's times like these where I realise that Life will never subside to anything worse than that of my current position. I sit here watching, waiting for him to act upon his wishes, waiting for the day that Icould avenge her.Waiting for the day that all of my pain can dissolve, and those that Ilove will be a memory I wish to have. Not one that haunts.

I tryed to save her, I loved her so much.I wanted to have my life revolve around her only, grow old with her-just like I promised. But I let her down, I let Anya Emerson-My beauty down-And god help me if I don't keep my promise to her.'

He gently looked at a his torn, and old notebook. He opened to a small page, where he kept surviving pictures of all who died. But one page stood out. That of the dead Scooby members. Tara, Anya, Dawn, Joyce. They all meant so much, and at times everyone took them for granted-but now those people had deep sorrow and neverending regret.

'Our tension grows upon everyday - between myself, Giles, and Willow. We all blame ourselves for their deaths. We all want to avenge their deaths in out own ways, but no agreements every arise. And we slowly fade, not because we want to-but because death lingers around us. It haunts us.
