Chapter 1 - Stinging Pain
The tears ran down his cheeks, while he was packing down his stuff, he was not thinking clear but he knew he couldn´t be around for a while. Anya´s death had been hard to carry, the only thing that had gone right in his life had been taken away from him.
"I don´t know what you ever saw in that girl?" A strong male voice sounded from the stairs
Xander jerked his head around to face his father
"Why won´t you face it, kid, everyone who falls in love with you, leave. but as the matter of fact I don´t love you, so I can stick around.. But what made you possible think that the girl loved you.."
"Anya does love me" Xander choke
"Well.." Mr. Harris shrugged "Maybe.." He laughed bitterly "I don´t know what teenage girls are into right now, maybe she did love you.. But she does not love you in the now. She´s the past, and right now I couldn´t have less faith in you, you are running away, because of a girl.."
"Dad, I don´t know how you can be so cold hearted.." Xander said as he walked up to him, his eyes were dark and cold as he spoke to his father "I bet you have never loved anything in your life.." He paused "Since I was born you´ve always looked down on me, always looked me as the black sheep, as the failure, but dad, it´s a lot better to have loved once than never loved anyone"
"Stop" His father commanded "Are you telling me, I am the black sheep, that I am the failure?"
"I believe I am" Xander said while his eyes were studying his, waiting for reaction
Mr. Harris clenched his fist and punched his son, Xander fell to the floor and waited for more, but his father paced around him "Why can you never fight like a man, Alex?"
Xander´s stinging eyes faced his father "You want me to hurt you"
Mr. Harris laughed "Do you think you can hurt me?"
Xander got back on his feets "Well, it only proofs that I am a more of a man than you"
Mr. Harris punched him again faster, so the kid fell again to the floor, but this time his father didn´t stop to talk, he kicked him, punched, threw things, until Xander passed out

Xander woke up because of the silence in the air, it was dark.. His father must had fallen asleep, Xander stirred on the floor when the earlier events came back to his mind, he painfully stood up, grabbed his bag and left

Xander ran down the streets, the rain poured down his face, washing most of the blood out of his face. People who were outside at this hour, stopped and stared after the kid who was running so fast, like he was fleeing
Xander ran, his heart started to beat faster, his breath got heavier, he had never ran so fast, he just wanted to get out of there, between footsteps he heard another one chasing him
Xander tried to run faster but his feets were refusing him, suddenly someone catched him, which made Xander fall to the ground along with the person, Xander kicked him without noticing who it was, he struggled to get back up, when he heard a familiar growl. Xander jerked his head to the lying vampire at the wet ground
"Spike! What the hell are you thinking?" Xander shot angrily
"Take it easy, pet" Spike commanded calmly as he stood up and faced the bruised kid "Got into a fight?" He motioned to his face
"Yeah, you could say that" Xander said as he fixed his bag pack
"And you´re leaving too" Spike laughed "You should go to England, really nice people"
"I´m not leaving the country, just, I´m just gonna leave the town.. for a.. while" Xander struggled
"And how was the slayer´s reaction?" Spike asked
Xander stirred awkwardly
"She don´t know" Spike asked "Yay, I got news for her"
"I don´t care if you´re gonna tell her, I´ll be gone" Xander said as he started to walk away
"Yeah, we´ll catch you if you walk, believe it or not, Giles has an interesting car which goes upto 120" Spike stated
"Spike" Xander breathed heavily as he turned to him, shooting him a cold glance "Drop dead"
"Been there" Spike shot back
"Stay in your grave"
