RED BANK BLAST: THE HOPE CONCERT FOR ROBERT BANDIERA, JR. As MC Big Joe Henry said, "We're here to help our good friend Bobby." Bobby's son, Robert Jr., has neurological difficulties and will require full time care. So Bobby's friends, and a full house at the Count Basie Theatre, came out to lend their support on April 29. Along with Bobby and his band, the heavy hitters were Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Gary U.S. Bonds, the Max Weinberg 7, and Southside Johnny. With Bobby working hard for the cause himself, hardly ever leaving the stage, the ensemble played a surprisingly seamless show that lasted over three hours. Five songs in-- after Bobby, his band, and others including Norman Nardini opened with songs like "Here Comes the Sun" and "I Shall Be Released"--the full ensemble was onstage for "This Time It's for Real." Then the performers began to rotate on and off in an impressively intertwined fashion--clearly a lot of thought and rehearsal time had gone into the show. Southside, Gary, Bon Jovi, and Bruce each did a few songs, with everyone getting a chance to shine: Bonds on "New Orleans" and "Daddy's Come Home," Bon Jovi on "Just Older" and David Bowie's "Heroes," Southside on... well, when isn't Johnny a ray of sunshine? Duets were also plentiful, with the South joining Bon Jovi for John Hiatt's "Have a Little Faith in Me," "I Don't Want to Go Home," and "Souls on Fire." Bruce and Bonds teamed up on "Jole Blon," "Soul Deep" and "This Little Girl." And a horn-drenched highlight, as Bruce and Southside tackled "The Fever" together, trading off verses with Bruce taking a mean lead guitar. And oh yeah, the Springsteen highlights-- nothing to complain about with the Max Weinberg 7 helping power classics like "The E Street Shuffle," "Tenth Avenue Freezeout," and "Kitty's Back." And closing the main set, "Thunder Road" and a brain-rattling "Rosalita." (And, perhaps more surprisingly, still nothing to complain about with Jon Bon Jovi taking some verses, practically dueting with Bruce on this pair of fan-faves... Bon Jovi said at the end of the night, "See ya at the Meadowlands this summer!"). During the break before the encores, MC Tim McLoone spoke about how "Bob Bandiera laid out a lifetime of good work," and that was why his friends had gathered tonight. He then went on to read a letter from Robert Jr.'s mother. A blowout encore brought everyone onstage for "Havin' a Party," after which Southside instigated a totally impromptu (and cut short) "Cold Sweat." Bon Jovi took the lead on "Twist and Shout," then Bruce and Bonds on "Quarter to Three." The penultimate song had Bruce bringing the house down with Moon Mullican's (and Nick Lowe/Rockpile's) "Seven Nights to Rock." Bobby, who had hardly left the stage all night, finally took the mic to say "Thank you everybody...I can't say enough." He dedicated the final song, "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers, to his son. Bruce finished off the night by saying everybody was here because "Bobby has saved all of our asses so many times over the years..." A touching night, a great night. Setlist:

HOPE CONCERT: NEW JERSEY BENEFIT SHOW THE HOPE CONCERT on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. Presented by the Rock and Roll Music Fund and Holiday Express. Tickets $300, $250 and $100 // A benefit concert with performances by (alphabetically): Bobby Bandiera, Gary US Bonds, Southside Johnny, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Bruce Springsteen. Masters of Ceremonies: Big Joe Henry (101.5 FM) and Tim McLoone (Holiday Express). Proceeds will be disbursed to the Rock and Roll Music Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to benefit the ongoing care of Robert Bandiera, Jr. Tickets are on sale Friday, March 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the box office window and the box office charge-by-phone 732-842-9000. There will be no mail, fax or internet sales for this event. Because of the unique nature of this benefit concert, there will be no Count Basie Theatre member tickets for this event. A four ticket per ticket buyer limit applies. Seating will be on a next-best-available basis within each price range. At the time of purchase ticket buyers will receive a written confirmation of their purchase only, and all tickets will be held at the box office until the night of the concert. The ticket buyer must be present on the night of the concert to claim the tickets, with two forms of ID including at least one photo ID and preferably the credit card used to purchase the tickets. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno/Tickets 3000 W. Alameda Ave. Burbank, CA 91523 Tickets to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno are available by U.S. mail. To order, send a self-addressed stamped envelope with a brief letter listing the desired date of taping and three alternate dates. You can request up to four tickets, but seating is limited. Audience members must be at least 16 years old. If tickets are available for the date you request, they will be sent to you by return mail approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the show date. All mail requests are processed on a first come, first-served basis and should be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance. streets and played in front BARCELONA'S MAGIC FOUNTAINS to over 25,000
fans!!!! The fountains are along the main avenue that leads to the
Montjuit Mountain, site of the Palau Sant Jordi and the Olympic Stadium.
They played for an hour: Blood and Blood, Livin' on a Prayer,
Love for Sale, Everyday, Misunderstood, I´ll Sleep When I´m Dead, I´ll
Be There For You and Always. For those of you who don't know what a BUSK is...A BUSKER is street performer (you see them on the streets and on subway platforms playing for money). A busker...busks. BON JOVI call it a BUSK when they set up a casual acoustic performance which very often take places outdoors in public areas. |

JOVI ROCKED SHEPHERDS BUSH Minutes ago Bon Jovi left the stage to a frenzied crowd at SHEPHERD'S BUSH EMPIRE At 8:45 sharp... BON JOVI hit the stage. The band took the stage and JON and RICHIE began an acoustic version of THE KINKS' classic song CELLULOID HERO.... and, after the first verse, rock 'n' roll legend RAY DAVIES of THE KINKS joined the band on stage for a full version of the song! The crowd went wild and you can see the excitement run through the crowd and into the band. It was a HUGE surprise for the crowd! ROY said his thanks and BON JOVI took over with: LIVIN' ON A PRAYER, YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME, EVERYDAY, BORN TO BE MY BABY, JUST OLDER, BOUNCE, UNDIVIDED, WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE, IT'S MY LIFE, MISUNDERSTOOD, THE DISTANCE, CAPTAIN CRASH AND THE BEAUTY QUEEN FROM MARS, I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD, BAD MEDICINE (with SHOUT as the ending). Of course they couldn't leave it like so after a few minutes, the band returned for the first encore: JOEY and BLOOD ON BLOOD. They left the stage and came back moments later with an amazing rendition of KEEP THE FAITH. As soon as that song was done, the band darted offstage, out the stage door and into waiting cars...off into the London night. And for those of you who weren't there to catch it live, it was webcasted on rollingstone.com. It was just like you were there, without the sweat of course! Don't forget all the cinemas in the UK, as well as in Amsterdam, Berlin and Hamburg...the crowd reaction was amazing. Club Gig Makes History By Being Satellited Live To Cinemas Nationwide It was announced today that the Bon Jovi gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire on Wednesday 18 September will be transmitted live via satellite to eleven UCI cinemas across the UK. This will enable those fans who missed out on tickets (they sold out in 8 minutes) to catch the band’s first European club gig in 10 years. This is the first time in Europe that a live concert has been broadcast across a cinema network. The Shepherds Bush concert, will be beamed simultaneously to screening parties at UCI cinemas in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Hull, Preston, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Derby, Milton Keynes and Cardiff so that music fans across the country get to see this unique concert as it happens This full-tilt rock concert marks the release of the band’s eagerly awaited new studio album Bounce. The club gig will include some of their multi-million selling tracks like Livin’On A Prayer, It’s My Life, Keep The Faith, You Give Love A Bad Name and new tracks including their latest single Everyday. Tickets for the private screening will be free and available only via competitions on local radio and press. Below is a list of the cinemas that will screen the live concert.
Bon Jovi’s new album Bounce is released on Mercury Records on 23 September 2002. The band have sold over 92 million albums worldwide, and have played over 2000 shows in 47 countries to more than 31 million people. Everyday is the first single to be taken from the album and is released on 16 September.

SQUARE INFORMATION Here's the low-down on the Times Square event on September 5th. (HOW EXCITED ARE YOU??) BON JOVI is headlining and their perfomance is scheduled for 7-8pm (EST). However, the days events are scheduled to begin at 4:30pm. Fans are asked to arrive NO EARLIER THEN 2PM (you will not be allowed to wait in Times Square any earlier). The stage will be between 43rd & 44th between 7th Ave and Bway. You will allowed to enter at the following locations: 6th Avenue & 47th Street 6th Avenue & 49th Street 6th Avenue & 52nd Street 6th Avenue & 55th Street 6th Avenue & 58th Street 8th Avenue & 45th Street 8th Avenue & 49th Street 8th Avenue & 52nd Street 8th Avenue & 55th Street 8th Avenue & 58th Street ***DO try to take mass transit ***DO NOT bring backpacks or large packages ***DO NOT bring alcoholic beverages ***If you leave a designated viewing area that has been filled to capacity, you will be prohibited from re-entering (no bathroom or food breaks) ***Their will be an ADA accessible pen located at the west corner of 44th Street and 7th Ave. The 7-8pm performance will be carried live on VH-1 (VH-1's 2 Minute Warning, Live From Times Square) and will repeat it again at midnight. ESPN will be cutting in and out of the Times Square event during it's pre-game programming. MTV will be broadcasting throughout the day however at this time, it is unclear if any of Bon Jovi's performance will be included. The local CBS affiliate (WCBS) is slated to air portions of the night's events in the tri-state area is broadcasts in (subject to change.) CBS, the Network, however, if filming the entire day's events and packaging it for a one-hour primetime special on CBS that will air the following night, Friday, September 6th at 9pm (ET.) The NY GIANTS vs. San Francisco 49ers game will be carried live on ESPN and they will be the exclusive broadcast of the BON JOVI half-time performance. Keep in mind, this is the very first time there has been a halftime show at a NY Giants game at Giants Stadium... We know everyone is excited for this but seeing as though its a tough ticket to get.... New York City's Times Square is THE place to be... Start looking around town, there are tons of billboards in and around the NYC area promotiong the NFL KickOff event... and you should also begin to see BON JOVI billboards on the highways as well. Keep an eye out!!! There will be a TON of media (domestic and international) covering the Times Square event so expect to see lots of Bon Jovi in the next few weeks. Plus, a few TV shows are going to be following the band throughout the day and will have exclusive footage of the band on the helicopter to Giants Stadum (HOW COOL?) So, there will lots going on in BON JOVI world. We will let you know when to set your VCR's and what shows to watch as we get closer. BON JOVI invited their close friends, family and the entire staff of their record label to a kick off party at New York City's Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom last night. (Did you see the photo of Jon in today's New York Daily News?!) The guests ate a little, drank a lot and got to watch BON JOVI perform a mini-concert exclusively for them and premiering many new songs off BOUNCE.
